You must be the new kid!

Sophie needed to absorb everything new that had happened. There had been a dance recently, and it had been very eventful. Sophie wanted to process what had happened, but she was just so busy all the time. She was cabin leader, so everything was her responsiblity. She needed to make sure she knew where her cabin mates were, organize the cabin activites, make alliances, and not go insane. That last one was proving to be difficult for Sophie, since she had no free time. So, one sunny afternoon, after Sophie FINALLY had a break, she packed her book on Greek myths, her IPod, and headed to the hill.

Sophie was wearing her regular outfit-a white t-shirt, jeans, her owl necklace, and sandals-and she had put her hair in a ponytail. It was a sunny day, and as she got closer to the hill, she began to feel refreshed, and clear-headed. She made it to Thalia's Tree, and sat down at the base, resting her back against the rough bark of the tree. She closed her eyes, and began to think about what happened.

After she sorted through the claiming, the prophecy, and the elections, Sophie opened her eyes. This was going to kill her, trying to figure out what Aphrodite had meant. Sophie had no idea what was going on, and that frustrated her. She hated not knowing things. Sophie sighed, and took out her book. She flipped it open to a random page, and began to read the myth on Athena's birth.

After a few more stories, Sophie thought she heard a noise. She rested the book on her lap, and looked around. She didn't see anything. But the noise came again, louder this time. It sounded like footsteps, as if someone were jogging up the hill. But who would do that? As far as Sophie knew, no demigods had left camp yet, and mortals and monsters couldn't enter. Sophie sat a little straighter, but remained seated. "Hello?" she called out, hoping it wasn't anything too scary. Hopefully, it was a new demigod, or the wind. Definitely not anything bad. Or at least, probably not... "Hello?" Sophie called out again, hoping for an answer.

Athena looked down from Olympus. She was very proud that Sophie had became Cabin Leader, Athena had faith that her child would do well. Usually they did. Athena wanted to visit her daughter, again. But, it wash allowed without a purpose. She had learned never to cross Zeus without a good plan, but she always had a plan.

Athena frowned at the girl that had appeared in front of her daughter. Athena could tell she was a bit of trouble, but hoped Sophie became friends with her. Maybe then the girl wouldn't be as much trouble.

Athena came up with an idea. An idea that would surely work. She would just say that she had something important to do. Not explanation, at all. Besides, along to your daughter was important.

Athena closed her eyes and appeared being Thalia's Tree. She wouldn't make her appearance, yet.

Sophie gave a small jump when a voice answered her. It also called out hello, but Sophie couldn't tell from what direction it was from. She stayed seated, but shut the book and put it away. It probably wasn't a monster, so Sophie didn't see the need to take out a weapon...yet. She tensed, and got ready to either pull out her dagger or run, when a girl emerged.

The girl looked like she could be Sophie's age, maybe 15 or 16. She had dark red hair, and brown eyes. She smiled, and said hello again.

Sophie stood up, to be the same level as this girl. If you were in a fight, being on the ground wasn't a good idea. She tried to relax herself, but she was still alert. Either this was a new kid, or a monster in disguise. Being a half-blood, anything was possible. "Hey," Sophie said, just to say something. She nearly winced at that, however. There were a billion things she could have said, and she said 'hey'.

"So, you must be our newest camper," Sophie continued, deciding to give this girl the benfit of the doubt. It wasn't really a smart choice, but Sophie didn't know of any monsters that could shape-shift, and besides, if this girl was going to attack her, she would have done it already.

"I'm Sophie Rainde, daughter of Athena," Sophie continued, extending her hand, for a handshake. While waiting to see if this girl was going to shake her hand or not, she examined the girl, and tried to decide who her godly parent would be. She didn't know much about the girl, so she couldn't really make any guesses. Maybe as the day progressed, Sophie'd have a better guess.

Athena smiled at her daughter, Sophie. She didn't know about the girl, Rosin, that much so the fact that Solhie was alert was good. Athena stepped out from behind the safety of Thalia's Tree. She smiled, as she slowing, taking her time.

Athena never did change her appearance much. Hardly ever to a little girl, like some other goddesses. Occassionally Athena would have to, but only during certain times. Athena approached the two girls, her daughter and the unclaimed one.

"Hello, Sophie." Athena said, caringly, facing Sophie with a smile on her face. "Good to meet you Rosin." Athena said, again turning to Rosin. Athens didn't think she needed to introduce herself, considering how Sophie knew what she looked like.

This girl was being sassy. She didn't reply to Sophie's first comment, and when she replied with her name, she said it like she was better than Sophie. Sophie frowned. She could deal with mean girls, but what had Sophie ever done to deserve this? She crossed her arms. If this girl-Roisin, wanted to play that game, Sophie could match her.

Before Sophie could say anything, and possibly something she'd regret later, a woman stepped out from the tree on the crest of the hill. Now, most times, if that happened, you'd spray the woman with pepper spray, and run, but Sophie recongnized her. She looked like Sophie-blond hair, gray eyes-but there was an explanation for that. This was Sophie's mom, Athena. She hadn't seen Athena since her claiming, her first day here, but most kids probably never saw their parent after that, which confused Sophie. Had she done something wrong, and Athena was here to punish her for it?

"Hello, Sophie," Athena said, quite warmly. Ok, scratch out the doing something bad part. She smiled at her, and then greeted Roisin. Sophie tried not to act surprised in front of the new girl, and tried to act as if this happened every day. "Um, hi," she said. She winced. Wasn't she so smooth?

Sophie straightened. "I assume this means I shouldn't take my dagger out?" she asked, to no one in particular. She meant it as humor, but it might have come out a bit serious. Roisin irritated Sophie, with her attitude, and she needed to be taught a lesson. But there was time for that.

Sophie shifted from foot to foot, and kept her hand near her necklace, which hid her dagger. She hoped Athena didn't see that, cause she knew what it was. She had given it to Sophie. Still, she kept her hand near her weapon, and stayed guarded. She didn't trust Roisin, and she wanted her to know it. She waited for someone to say something.

Reliszing that she was being rude she blushed scarlet. A little while ago she had been dignosed with being Narcissistic. Narcissistic personality disorder is a condition in which people have an inflated sense of self-importance and an extreme preoccupation with themselves. "I'm sorry i have NPD and i just ca...." she was cut of by someone adressing her.

She turned to see someone who looked very similer to sophie, they must have been related. "I am so sorry i just don't know who you are" roisin put on a fake smile. "and please don't stab me i think it hurts i have only stabbed others but they seem to think it hurts so yes keep your dagger away"

Athena laughed, cheerily. "Yes, you probably weren't expecting me." Said Athena, noticing the awkwardness in her daughter's voice. But, Athena didn't blame her. Barely any children see their parent twice! Most only see during the claiming, or not at all. Even with the new rule about no one over thirteen.

"Well, you wouldn't recognize me if you haven't seen me before. I'm not exactly like those statues, now am I?" Athena said, smiling at Rosin. "I'm Athena, or Sophie's mother." She introduced herself.

Athena shook her head, "I agree, you don need your dagger at this second. As I really don't think Rosin is looking for a fight.." Athena said, carefully. She was lucky she knew Rosin's name. She only knew it from hearing their conversation, or else she wouldn't have. But if she had hurt people before, things might not end well.

Roisin blushed when Sophie made her comment. She told Sophie she had been diagnosed with NPD, and was about to tell her something when Athena had appeared. Sophie nodded at her. While having something like this didn't excuse her actions, it definitely justified some of them. And while Sophie wasn't going to give any special treatment, maybe she'd treat the girl a little better. Sophie didn't have anything like that-thankfully-so she didn't know how it felt, but she could imagine.

After both Roisin and Athena discouraged the dagger, Sophie uncrossed her arms, and decided she wouldn't take it out. Besides, she still hadn't had time to clean it, and it was still bloody with scorpion blood. No need to scare the new kid. Just to do something, Sophie reached down, and grabbed the bag she had brought with her. She shouldered it, and shifted uneasily from foot to foot. She still didn't know why Athena was here, or whether she should ask. She decided against it, Athena would reveal it in her own time. So instead, Sophie focused on Roisin, determined to find out more about her, at least so she had a better chance of figuring out her godly parents. There were many gods, nearly 3,000, if memory served, as Greeks had gods for everything. Sophie at least hoped to narrow it down to 1,500.

"So, you seem to be taking this all very well," Sophie commented to Roisin, hoping she didn't sound rude. "I mean, you didn't bat an eye when I said I was the daughter of a goddess, and when said goddess appeared, you seemed fine," Sophie noted, storing it for future reference. "Still, you must have some questions, or at least want to know more about Camp Half-Blood, as you'll be staying here for a while, am I right?" Sophie asked, then paused. She decided not to say anything else, and give Roisin a chance to respond, or Athena to input something.
