Parker wiped her face in disbelief. She can't believe that her mentor, Archie, just dropped her in the middle of nowhere, practically leaving her in the hands of a creature. A satyr, to be exact. Though on a first glance, Bernie didn't seem like a satyr. Meaning, his feet looked normal and didn't smell like a livestock. But when he started with the story and revealed his true form, Archie's safe house suddenly smelled like a barn. And while crossing his feet (or was it hooves?), Bernie started to talk about weird stuff, something about gods and goddesses still alive and well, though very dependent on the human civilization. And that they were still sometimes fell in love with mortals, and produce what appeared to be called demigods: people that was half god, half mortal. And ta-da! Parker was actually one of them. What a great surprise. Not to mention that annoying horned teenager begged Archie to take Parker to a safe place, the only safe place for demigods. Somewhere called Camp Half-Blood. And much to the young thief's surprise, that mentor actually agreed!

And so, the blonde 18 year-old was left with a backpack full of her gadgets, another slim bag that consisted of two pair of clothes inside, and some cash enough for two weeks. "I don't know how long you will be there, so use it wisely. And don't even think to steal from other kids!" Archie's last sentence made Parker sighed in disappointment, but she knew better than to oppose that man. Furthermore, she was forbidden to bring some of her most essential tools to that Camp. Her taser was confiscated, and the same thing goes to her cellphone. "No calling me. No asking for help from me in any way. You need this, Parker. You need interaction. Try to be normal, for a change." But just a thought of that conversation made Parker wanted to hurl. Why would she needed interaction or friends? The girl had the coolest job ever! Not to mention, the only relationship she would ever need was with Archie. Parker always stood up in a crowd as a peculiar one. Even the police that suspected her for thievery thought she was insane. Parker would laugh at the worst situation possible, and couldn't differentiate between a truth or a lie. Yes, she was exceptionally smart, but Parker was also socially-challenged. She might be looked like a normal girl, but inside, Parker was still a 10 year old and never grew up.

But apparently, Archie thought that with being here, Parker would eventually be normal. You know, laughing with friends, talking about the latest gossip and such. Unfortunately, Parker knew this wasn't a normal place from the first glance. Just call it her instincts. Not only they have a satyr, but there's actually several satyrs there. However, even though she had been told about gods and demigods, Parker's mind can't seem to process that news correctly. She wasn't even sure that such things even existed in the first place. Unless someone can talk some senses into her, a Parker would never believe that she was actually a demigod. No, siree. Never!

Back to reality at last, Parker narrowed her eyes to Bernie, that was clopping his hooves with an apologetic looked on his face. "What? You want to pee?" She said it with a curious tone. Some might think Parker was being cynical, but that just the way she talked. Bold and blunt. But when Bernie told her that he would have to leave her alone to search for her cabin, Parker raised her eyebrows. "Oh. Yeah, sure. Whatever." And with that, the satyr trotted over to the Woods. Normally, Parker would try to search for anything that she needed by herself, but seeing that this wasn't a normal situation, the girl probably need some help. The problem was, who and how to ask it. Trying not to think about it to much, she immediately spotted someone nearby. She wasn't sure that it was a boy or a girl, but she shouted anyway. "Hey you! Yeah you!" When the person turned around, Parker kneel down and checked everything in her bags once more. Lockpick: checked. Safety rigging and pulleys: checked. Her bunny: checked. While patting her bag, Parker talked without seeing her opponent. She was still not sure about making eye contact, so she kept her sights to the belongings. "Where are the newbies located? I need to get these bags to that place."

To put it simply, this camp was weird. Johnnyboy was used to having to adapt easily, but this was a big transition for him, and he couldn’t handle it. Everything he had come to believe and everything he had known had just been thrown out the window. He was a gang member, he traveled around, he didn’t settle down. Especially not when his instincts were telling him it was all wrong. Johnny had learned to trust his instincts, and this didn’t feel right to him. Maybe he was starting to adapt to this life, and he didn’t like it. He didn’t want to be a son of Apollo, he didn’t want to live in a cabin with his half siblings, and he didn’t want to be separated from the gang. But what could he do?

It wasn’t like Johnny hadn’t made an effort. He was the social one in the group, who made all the friends, and who had all the sources. True to his nature, he had started introducing himself, gathering information, and gaining sources. He liked to be well connected, and nothing would change that. He had especially targeted the newbies. They knew less about him, and would be less worried about being friendly with a guy of his nature. He had taken to prowling the hill, waiting for new campers, as those were the most open to new ideas. Sure, he tried talking to other people, like cabin leaders, who were in control, and other major people, but newbies were his target right now.

This was the reason Johnny found himself on Half Blood Hill, right near the pine tree that stood on the hill. He was dissecting all the information he had gathered over the time he had spent here, and what it meant to him. He had asked about Clove, and he had gotten some interesting news. She was a daughter of Ares, who was the god of war, and she definitely had a reputation. Johnny knew it was her by hearing other people’s tales. The last anyone had seen of her was around the time some people going on a quest had left, and since they weren’t back yet, Johnny didn’t expect to see Clove until they did. He continued going over what he had heard about the Greek gods, and monsters, when he was rudely interrupted by someone’s voice.

He gave a sigh when a girl’s voice rang through the air, calling for his attention, but then perked up. She might be a new demigod, which meant a new possible informant. Time for diplomatic Johnny to come out. Before turning around, he plastered a smile on his face, and tried to look as friendly as he could. He turned around, and made his way to the girl who looked to be his age. “Hey there,” he greeted her, stopping in front of the girl. He gave her a friendly smile, but he scanned her with his eyes, looking for possible weaknesses, or something to use against her. He noted her blonde hair, the bags at her feet, and what appeared to be a lock picking kit. Interesting. He wasn’t quite sure how to introduce himself, but he didn’t falter, deciding to wing it. “You can just call me Johnny,” he said, deciding to go with his simpler name. People tended to trust people with more normal names, and Johnny was definitely better than Johnnyboy in that area. “Welcome to Camp Half Blood,” he continued, making a spreading motion with his arm down the valley, towards the camp. Be nice, he told himself, keeping his smile on his face. “Why don’t we go to the Hermes cabin, and in the meantime, I can explain what this place is,” he suggested, turning back to face the girl. Yes, he could be very nice at times, and right now, he was ready to do what he did best.

When Parker was sure all of her belongings still in place and finally tilted her head towards the person standing in front of her, she just furrowed her eyebrows. Her first reaction was disappointment. He was tall and muscular, but his attire… Raggy sleeve-less shirt and even dirtier pants plus sneakers. And from the looks of it, she can tell that this boy didn’t have anything worthy on his clothes. Not even a wallet or any kind of precious baubles. Parker sighed when the boy mentioned his name, which was Johnny, and replied with, “I’m Parker.” She briefly nodded. Since she knew she can’t pilfered anything from this boy, touching him would be redundant. So the blonde girl would never give him a handshake. Not if he didn’t have anything that she could steal.

When Johnny said a welcoming greet while gesturing their surroundings, Parker yawned and nodded lazily. She still didn’t get what’s a half-blood meant, after all. A small voice in her head urged Parker to question about it, but she quickly gave away a dismissive wave. Eventually she would find out more about that, but for now, Parker would settled for not knowing those facts first. First rule of being a thief: be quick and light. Questioning about everything that made her curious will only slow her down. Then second: learn your surrounding first. Those were Archie’s cardinal rules when he first taught Parker how to steal properly.

Stealing was always Parker’s game. Her mentor, Archie, always taught her to only bump into someone or pat him or her if she wants to take something from them. And thankfully, it always worked like magic for Parker. So far, she had taken several thousand worth of loot just from one drive in a subway. Parker usually aimed for smaller but expensive trinkets, such as rings, necklaces, even iPhones. And she always got away with it. That’s why her eyes lit up when Johnny mentioned something about Hermes. “Which Hermes? Bags? Shoes? Don’t tell me… jewelries?” Yes, in actuality, Parker didn’t like wearing any kind of jewelry or stupid chic bags that can only weighed her down. But thanks to Archie, the young thief knew that the famous brand would cost anyone a great fortune when they bought even the smallest trinket in the store. Parker quickly paced herself, stumbled a few times along the way because of her heavy belongings, but leaving her guide behind. She was excited to find a cabin full of Hermes’ stuff. But she realized that she would going nowhere without Johnny’s help, so she abruptly turned around with an annoyed look on her face. “Well? Show me the cabin! Now!” She gave him a wicked grin, a sign that her thievery mind working rapidly now.

((PS: Of course, what Parker meant was this Hermes. :p))

((Agh, short))

Disappointment. Johnny was used to seeing, feeling, and being that. Hadn’t he always been a disappointment, next to Meatcleaver and Glamour and everyone else in his life? When he was a kid, he always had to try hard to get what Glamour got naturally. Next to Meatcleaver, well, what was he? A disappointment. So of course, when this girl flashed disappointment in her eyes, for whatever reason, Johnny could feel his stomach clenching, like it did whenever he saw Meatcleaver ready to kill someone. Oh, Johnny could torture and hurt like the rest of them, but killing…No, he would not kill. He could always get away with excuses not to kill, leaving it to the others.

Remember your feelings, Johnny told himself, and he let the act drop. This girl –Parker- didn’t want to play nice, fine, Johnny could do that. His smile slipped off his face, and he replaced it with a serious face, which felt more natural to him. Just to look like he wasn’t bipolar, Johnny crossed his arms, maybe to symbolize that he wasn’t going to help her any more than he promised. Johnnyboy was a great diplomat, when he wanted. But he didn’t get into a gang for nothing. It was a part of him, and while it was hidden a bit deeper than Glamour’s, it was there. His eyebrows scrunched in confusion at Parker’s answer. What did she think Hermes was? No matter. Johnny was done playing games.

When Parker demanded he show her the cabin, Johnny gave a grim smile. “Say please,” he suggested, uncrossing his arms. Johnny waited a few moments, and then decided against it. Since there was little chance of gaining another informant, Johnny needed to keep an eye on Parker. Maybe he was suspicious, maybe he was nervous. Or maybe he was scared. Scared that she would be a better fit with the gang, and Meatcleaver would replace Johnny with Parker. Or maybe not. Either way, Johnny couldn’t let that happen. “Let’s get going,” he said curtly, almost going to turn, but before remembering an old rule. Never turn your back on a potential enemy. Maybe it was too early to think of Parker as an enemy, but that was another saying, to always be prepared, and better safe than sorry.

“Let’s get on the same page. Hermes is the god of travelers; therefore all unclaimed demigods stay in his cabin. Until you get claimed by your godly parent, you stay there. This is Camp Half Blood, and I’d leave stealing to the Hermes kids,” Johnny said, being a bit suggestive at the end. He could put two and two together, he wasn’t stupid. “And no matter what, do not steal from me…Or you may not have any hands to steal with anymore.”

Parker’s grin was wiped clean when she saw how Johnny looked afterwards: all serious and demanded her to say please. She widened her eyes then in a split second squinted them, obviously suspicious about why he suddenly behaving like this. It was like the opposite from what Parker thought before. Furthermore, a Parker never. Said. Please. Licking her lips to suppress her anger that crept up quickly on her spine, Parker tried to remember what Archie said. That she needed this: interaction, how to react properly if she wanted to be normal. But the problem was, Parker didn’t want to be normal. She loved the way she was raised and taught. It was unconventional, but that’s what worked for Parker. However, she was curious about the Hermes cabin, so she managed to respond accordingly, though Parker was having trouble letting the word out from her lips. She had to open her mouth, closed it again, the after gritting her teeth for a few seconds, finally whispered it with a bitter tone. “Please.” It was like acid. She was never good at asking help, or talking to anyone actually.

Unfortunately, Johnny still decided to be serious afterwards. Parker could tell that he wanted to show her the cabin, but before he walked, the boy said some words that made Parker’s head turned upside down. She can’t help but rolling her eyes while hearing them. Oh, here we go again. The talk about demigods and their stuff. Parker’s eyes went a little dim when she finally realized that the Hermes Johnny was talking about was not a brand, but something else that was much older. “Oh, you mean the guy with the…” She scratched her head, trying to remember what Archie taught her in the Greek History subject. To tell the truth, Parker never liked history. But she had to learn this once since she got a job to steal the Botticelli version of Hermes’ painting in Italy. And thankfully, she aced that one with flying colors. But still, Parker was having trouble remembering the details of that particular… god. Ugh. Even thinking about that word made Parker wanted to spit them out. When she finally remembered Hermes as Archie described him, the blonde girl nodded rapidly. “The one with winged shoes and swirly stick right? Oh, him. Well…” Parker raised her eyebrows. “Let’s go.”

When Johnny warned her about not to steal anything from him, Parker scoffed. She wasn’t scared of his threat, of course. Sure, Johnny might look tough, but Parker had broke bones and snapped some fingers before. Archie had taught her the basics of fighting, so Parker could always defend herself if the situation demanded it. The only incident when she failed was… Parker shuddered upon reminiscing that horrible night. When a guard-scratch that, a creature- still chased her until she got cornered even after Parker dropped her loot. But other than that, Parker was very capable at taking care of herself. “No worries. It’s not like you have anything worth stealing anyway…” She whispered the last sentence so Johnny won’t be able to hear them. The guy wore beat-up clothes as his everyday wear. Of course he won’t have anything good enough for Parker to pilfer. But then she decided to ask some question that had bugged her since before she got here. “But what’s up with this demigod thing?” Parker absent-mindedly played with the edges of her shirt while asking this. “I mean… how come gods can have children? They don’t exist… do they?” What Parker meant was, if the gods and goddesses was real, how come she never knew this before? Why didn’t they, whoever her godly parent was, never showed his or her face in front of Parker? Still walking and looking straight towards the scenery, Parker yanked her shirt, anxious about how Johnny would answer that question.

What was he doing? Johnny was a diplomat, and he needed to start acting like one. He was the one in the group who handled these things, and if he couldn’t do it, then what was he? Calm down. Johnny could do that. He’d done this before. Calm down. Parker had obviously noticed his mood change, and she had definitely reacted to it. Johnny gave a nod when she said please, and silently repeated his mantra to himself again. Calm down. Be a diplomat. Be cool, calm, and collected. Johnny listened as Parker tried to figure out who Hermes was, giving a small smirk at her answer. “There we go, that’s the one,” he replied to her answer, deciding to ignore her lack of detail or refinement of her answer. It’s not like he had known anything about gods when he first came here, anyway. In fact, he was still learning, and since his description of Hermes wasn’t that much better, he didn’t continue with that subject. He thought for a bit about how to continue, but it didn’t take long. He’d done this before, he knew the script.

Maybe one thing that bothered Johnny was the fact that Parker didn’t take his warning seriously. If only she knew. Even if Johnny didn’t deal with her, that type of attitude wouldn’t help her. Glam probably wouldn’t let someone say that to her, at least. He didn’t respond to that, and focused more on the questions she asked. Since Parker wasn’t as trusting as some of the newbies Johnny had met, being overly nice wasn’t going to work. Then again, being aggressive wouldn’t either. Time to find some middle ground. “Demigod…A demigod is a child of a god and a mortal. In all those myths, with gods and stuff, didn’t they all show the gods having, like, a million kids?” Johnny replied, using a rhetorical question. He did sort of answer the question, but he wasn’t done. Johnny ran a hand through his hair, and thought about what to say next. “As for them not existing…Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they’re not there,” he answered cryptically. “Here, in camp, you basically live here, train here, and learn more here. This spiel is just the beginning. You’re never done learning.”

Alright, what next? “I think we’ve chatted long enough,” Johnny replied. He gave another small smile, just to keep up appearances. “Let’s go meet your new cabin mates,” he continued. He picked up a bag that was at Parker’s feet, and finally turned his back to her, to start walking down the hill. Why did he take a bag? Well, Johnny wasn’t completely uncivilized. Manners were always important, especially if you were at least trying to be charismatic. Besides, it wasn’t like it was heavy, and it would ensure that Parker would at least follow. She wouldn’t leave her stuff to a complete stranger. “Maybe you should hurry up, you wouldn’t want someone stealing your things,” Johnny said, a bit loud so Parker could hear him. Middle ground. Right. To compensate, Johnny slowed down a tiny bit, and took the time to sling the bag over his shoulder. He reminded himself what would happen next. Take the new kid to the Hermes cabin, get them a bunk/sleeping bag, and answer any more questions they might have. After that, it was time to leave, but Johnny kept tabs on everyone he met. He didn’t write notes or anything, but he asked around about them, learned what he could. He never knew if/when the information would be useful.

He was definitely going to keep an eye on Parker. It wasn’t completely hopeless yet, and it wouldn’t be until Johnny deemed her a lost cause. Even if this venture doesn’t work, he still has other means to acquire information, some of which included his fellow gang members. They could be nasty if they wanted. Johnny planned on meeting them soon, to exchange information, since he at least had gotten some interesting things to tell. He wasn’t sure what Glamour and Meatcleaver were up to, but knowing them, they’d never be idle. As for Clove, there was nothing to do until she got back, and Johnny still wasn’t sure what happened to Brawler. It wasn’t like her to just disappear like that, and needless to say, Johnny was worried. But this wasn’t the time to focus on that, he had a job to do. “Just a warning, while you may or may not be an excellent thief, be careful,” Johnny said aloud, since Parker was probably right behind him. He stopped in front of the Hermes cabin, and saw that it was old, worn, and probably chock full of kids waiting for a new target. Not like he knew. He probably didn’t need to ask, but he did anyway. “Are you ready?”

Upon hearing what Johnny had to explain about demigods, Parker rubbed her head due to her disbelief. Whatever it was that Johnny just said, it didn’t make sense in that young thief’s mind. Gods? Myths? Real? How can those things be real? Myths are called myths because they were only rumors and stories, not facts. And as for those gods and goddesses stories, Parker never read them. Except occasionally, when it had something to do with what she must stole. Like the Aphrodite painting by Boticelli, or the very valuable Hermes’ bracelet. Sure, the last one wasn’t really connected with mythology, but Parker got curious and asked anyway. That’s why now she knew how Hermes looked like. “Million kids? Like who?” She figured that if they were that many demigods, she must’ve heard some of them. But Parker let that question hang. It was so like her: childish yet a bit curious, causing her to blurted questions such as that one.

What comes next made Parker furrowed her eyebrows. As for living here, Archie had made that very clear. The blonde girl must stay here, until Archie said otherwise. But train? Train for what? Not that she would hate it. Parker had been training for her whole life to be a thief. And to tell the truth, she hasn’t stop training until this very day. Having that obscure but appealing job meant that she could never stop searching for new ways to pilfer people. But to train in here? She quickly scanned the scenery. There’s a volleyball court. Then something that looked like small houses. A little bit to the right, a climbing wall, which made Parker’s eyes sparkle. For that one, she won’t need any training. However, other than that, what could she trained for in this place? Yet Parker hold her tongue once again. After what Johnny did next, she would never want to see his face again, even by coincidence. Still, fate could say otherwise.

Now, the first thing that one should learn about Parker is that you should never, never ever ever touch her stuff. Especially her special bag. Unfortunately, that’s what Johnny did, yanking that bag as it was a sand sack. Parker’s eyes lit up from her anger, and so did her face, but Johnny didn’t seem to notice. He just walked away and spoke that Parker should hurry up. Oh, she did it alright. Parker paced so fast, she ended up directly behind the boy, breathing heavily to control her madness. In these times, she always visualized Archie’s voice in her head, though sometimes it failed. Be good. Be normal. Don’t waste the opportunity However, Parker respected boundaries. No one, and she meant no one could even touch her, and of course, her belongings. Thankfully, her mantra worked at the moment. Parker kept her composure, though some campers could see she was pretty steamed while following Johnny to the Hermes cabin.

When they stood in front of the cabin, Johnny gave a subtle warning that the kids in this building might be even more greater than Parker on stealing stuff. Parker’s eyes gone so wide, it might just popped out from her socket. After Johnny asked if she was ready, she answered with pulling her bag from his hands. “I will be fine.” She gritted her teeth out of furiousness. “And if you want your stuff to be safe, the next time you bumped into me, never… I repeat, never EVER touch my belongings.” Parker instinctively patted that bag, which contained some of the most gorgeous and expensive things she pilfered over the years. Archie let her keep some, so Parker could reminiscence her job and her previous life. Rummaging through, she pulled a intricate necklace. It was green and very gorgeous, and if one know something about jewelry, they would realize that it was Queen Elizabeth’s necklace. “See this baby? Stole it in a exhibition at London. Don’t tell anyone, but the Queen has been sporting the fake one nowadays.” Parker remembered when she finally got her hands at that jewelry. Her third heist, and the most memorable one. That’s why she kept the loot close.

And just like on cue, a boy bumped from behind. He said sorry, but Parker knew better. She growled, grabbed the boy’s fingers, that were intertwined around Parker’s wallet. “You must be a rookie.” She snarled. “Never try that with anyone ever again. Your coordination when bumping to me with your hand is way off. And if you’re smart, you will never steal from me.” When Parker patted the scared fellow and gestured him to go, she actually took his wallet. Playing with it, Parker stare at Johnny with a quizzical look. “So? What’s next?”

((short >.<))

As Johnny walked, he heard Parker ask a question: Who were the kids? “Oh, there’s a lot. Hercules, he was Zeus’ kid. There’s also George Washington, son of Athena. And basically any other Greek hero or really famous person you can think of,” Johnny said with a crooked grin. He walked a little faster, since Parker looked a little steamed that he grabbed her bag. Made sense. Johnny wouldn’t exactly appreciate someone getting grabsy with anything he owned, but still, Parker had asked for help. Was it his fault he obliged? At the same time, he wouldn’t appreciate that type of help. When you lived his type of life, you had to learn to be independent, and not need help from anyone, unless you split jobs. From the little Johnny knew about Parker, he could imagine her learning the same lesson, and getting attached to her things.

He raised his eyebrows at her aggressive reaction. “Hah, don’t try and steal from me,” he repeated. Instead of threatening her, he tried something more cryptic. “You’ll regret it,” he finished. The only things he really cared about were his spear and the gift from Apollo. The spear had been his handy weapon for a while now, and it was really the only thing he had really brought to this camp from the streets. As for the gift…the reason he liked it wasn’t because it was from his dad. It was very handy, and definitely didn’t let you get surprised by a monster. Johnny examined the necklace Parker took out, and gave a nod of appreciation. “You must have had a good mentor,” Johnny commented, focusing on that aspect. No matter how good you were, half of it, maybe more, could be credited to your teacher, whoever that was. He stayed silent as Parker had a tangle up with a boy, probably another newbie to the Hermes cabin.

As much as Johnny appreciated a good thief, and good treasure, the wallet was a bit far. Not because of the importance, but because this was a small camp, and it was probably guaranteed she’d see that kid again. Of course, anybody could probably take that kid, but still…Johnny preferred to make friends where possible, since it usually paid off later. “What’s next…First, giving the kid his wallet back,” Johnny began slowly, thinking. “Second, we go in,” he continued, gesturing to the door. Instead of waiting, he walked forward, and pushed roughly on the door, opening it. He walked in, and for a split second, glanced at the door. They may or may not have been interested in seeing someone new, but that would change. Johnny cleared his throat. “Alright, everybody, nothing to see here. Go back to your activities,” he announced. Most of them did, and Johnny shot a glare at the couple who didn’t. “Come on,” he said to Parker, who was still behind him. He began navigating through the cabin.

It looks like a Red Cross center, was Johnny’s first thought as he walked in. He had actually never slept here before, and had only shown kids in, briefly spending time in here. Automatically attracted to the back of the cabin, Johnny headed straight for some sleeping bags. There must have been a wave of newbies, since the bunk beds seemed just full, and only a couple sleeping bags were occupied. “Take your pick,” Johnny said, waving his hand across the room. He kicked a bag that was near him, and stepped back in disgust as a weird green goo erupted from it. “Except that one,” he added, as an afterthought. He stepped away from that bag, and waited for Parker to make a choice. “Any questions?” he asked, just to fill time, as he waited.

Parker could only rolled her eyes when she saw how Johnny reacted after she pulled her bag by force. She could never understand why people mad when she acted like this. Obviously she’s entitled to be furious, it was her bag after all! But since she promised Archie that she would try to be normal, Parker didn’t say anything offensive afterwards. Instead, she showed Johnny one of her most treasured loot: The Queen Elizabeth’s necklace. Of course, Johnny was impressed. Anyone would. When he mentioned that Parker must have a good mentor, she grinned proudly and nodded. “He’s one of the best thief in the world.” But Parker managed not to let other details escaped her mouth. One of many advantages on being a thief is the anonymity. If one gives out too much, then their real identity will be revealed, even by just a little bit.

However, someone decided to try and steal from Parker afterwards. The Parker. A girl that successfully swiped a precious Van Gogh from a tight-security museum, the one who managed to steal one of only two maquettes of Michelangelo’s David in Vatican, and the girl who could differentiate a fake diamond with a real one with just a glance. Definitely someone you shouldn’t steal from. Of course, she did do something wrong afterwards by pilfering the boy’s wallet. With a stern voice, Johnny commanded Parker to returned the loot to his rightful owner. Sighing and pouting, Parker murmured, “No fun.” But eventually walk slowly towards the boy. She poked him, and he responded by jumping out of surprise. Waving the wallet, Parker narrowed her eyes, unable to produce her words for her few minutes. But at last, the apology came out. “Sorry.” She gave that wallet to the boy, who snagged them in fear, afraid that she might steal something of his again.

When Parker approached Johnny back, he gestured her to come inside the cabin, which she followed. Some of the kids inside instantly went quiet and stare, but Johnny waved them away and told them to get back on their activities. Parker raised her eyebrows while examining the room. Judging from the belongings, this was more of a refugee camp. Where everyone took shelter: in another word, not exactly a good living place. But Parker was used to that. She spent a lot of time on the streets as a child, so this was normal for her. The blonde didn’t say anything as Johnny walked in front of her and motioned her to follow him.

After the arrived in front of some sleeping bags, Johnny told Parker to take which one she wanted. Using her skills, Parker crouched down and examine every single one. A person can’t be too careful while dealing with something that was outside of this world. Plus, even just by a look, Parker knew that some of the kids were like her: a bit childish. And childish meant they love to play pranks. After a few seconds, Parker finally picked a sleeping-bag, but zipped it open and shook them rapidly. Just like she thought, a few things came out: a whoopee cushion, rubber rat (that she swore was squeaking), and several plastic cockroaches. Patting the dust away and squinted her eyes to the suspicious looking goo-ed sleeping bag, she walked to an empty corner and then set up her own place. After making sure everything was in place-not forgetting to booby trap her stuff in case the other kids tried to steal from her-, Parker walked back to Johnny, who was still waiting patiently.”So,” She crossed her hands. “That’s it? That’s all I need to know? Or… are there more?” To tell the truth, the young thief wanted this tour to end. She can’t wait to stake the Camp and figure out what was more treasured in this place. But she had to admit, she still need some introduction to the Camp first. Tilting her head, Parker furrowed her eyebrows and wondered what would come next.

((Sorry for the short, late, and crappy reply))

This girl had a problem with saying sorry. Sure, it wasn’t the easiest or most fun thing to do, but one thing Johnnyboy always kept in mind was that words could do more than swords sometimes. Of course, they couldn’t do everything, but Johnny could try. What else could he do, considering that was his are of forte? Johnny watched the boy walked away, keeping his eyes trained on him with lack of better things to do. “Now, was that so hard?” Johnny said with a smirk. Of course it was, but he didn’t need to say anything about that. He also chose to ignore the childish remark on how he was no fun. He could be plenty fun if needed. But the idea was, when was it needed?

Johnny watched a couple kids play cards as Parker continued scoping out the bags. She obviously had some idea of what was going on. Good. The Hermes kids had a knack of aiming the worst pranks on the most vulnerable people, which tended to be the younger campers, and the newbies. No problem here, then. Then, as Parker asked what else she needed to know, Johnny considered the more important information. “Piece of advice? Learn about people before you confront them,” Johnny suggested, amused at Parker’s jumpiness to get out and start exploring. “Learn who to watch out for. I’m sure you’re all rough and tough, but those Ares kids know what they’re doing,” Johnny said sarcastically, tapping his fingers against the cold metal pole of a bunk bed. He had taken the liberty of learning about the 12 major gods, a.k.a. the Olympians. It made total sense that Clove was a daughter of the god of war.

“Another thing? Get a real weapon. You can’t kill a monster with steel, so don’t try.” Johnny walked over, and grabbed some kid’s sword to show. He tilted the blade forward to show the bronze surface, before tossing the weapon back. “The armory is near the arena, so have fun with that,” Johnny continued. He would offer to show her, but it was apparently obvious that both of them were done with this showing. Johnny was going to finish up his tips, then let Parker free. He had a bit of research to do, and then he intended to find Glam, and see what she’d been doing. “If it were me, I’d ask an Athena or Ares kid, as they’re more helpful,” Johnny continued flatly. They were both war gods, after all. “Now, if you don’t have any more questions, class dismissed.”

Dionysus ~ God of Wine

Dionysus was doing a camp inspection. Not by his own free will, oh no, because Zeus was forcing him. Naturally, Dionysus only used the occasion to find things to irritate the demigods with. If they misbehaved, Dionysus would have something for them to do. To help camp. Most of these chores were long, agonising or both but the demigods probably deserved it. Even if they didn't, Dionysus liked giving chores to them. Mucking the stables? Not by far bad enough, he'd have them clean the walls of the stables. Dionysus hated his job with a passion, so he poured his passion out into it. Dionysus checked his checklist and found that only the cabins were left. He could already see about ten things he could comment on each and every cabin. To start, the Hermes cabin. Mostly because that was the easiest one to find fault in. As he walked over with his clipboard he noticed two demigods standing on the doorway. They entered the cabin and Dionysus smiled meekly, he'd deal with the new kid. After all, she was... interesting.

And so it was that Dionysus entered the Hermes cabin, seeminly uninterested. He looked up from his clipboard and shot a hard look at Elizabeth.
"New kid!" He said in his most insulting tone of voice. "Wrong cabin. You are to stay in cabin !!!. Special orders from Dionysus. That would be me." He said, sounding rather bored. He summoned a bag from the big house, a bag that Elizabeth should like. He incinerated her old bag (how useless) and threw the new bag at her. "Watch out, it bites." He said in a rather bored tone as he waved his hand, making his symbol appear above her head. One of the few kids currently in the cabin stared at him with an open mouth and Dionysus rolled his eyes. "Yes, she is my daughter, whatever." He said carelessly and stood on the threshold of cabin for a moment. "And if people stare at me like that I'll order a full cleanout of this rathole!" He threatened. He walked out the cabin and went over to the next cabin.

He finished the inspection in a bit of a hurry, mostly so he wouldn't have to talk to his daughter. He was rather fond of the bag he'd just given her. One in a million that was. A biting bag, although it only bites people nosing through the bag that are not the owner. Since Parker was a thief and rather attached to her bag, it only made sense she had a proper one. One that wasn't that easy to steal out of. The people who could stand the bites might go slightly insane by the wine laced teeth of the bag. Dionysus knew exactly what moved Parker though, he tended to be protective of the things he cared for, but they were rare. Now if only she could minimise the stealing and not learn more tricks from those blasted Hermes kid, she'd actually turn out fine. Well, as fine as a wine god's kid could possibly be.

Learn about people before Parker confront them? The girl scratched her head in confusion upon hearing this particular sentence. She never needed that kind of lesson before. Every time Parker pilfered something, she would only deal with security systems and mindless bodyguard who occasionally sleep on their job, which made her job much more easier. But maybe this time she actually should learn about people. Parker sighed while imagining how much time she could spent on the subject. Learning how to act normally was bad enough, but now she had to study people too… this Camp would be exhausting for her. And when Johnny mentioned something about Ares, another reminder tugged in Parker’s mind. She must read Greek Mythology as well. My my, could this day get any worse…

Apparently it could. Johnny suddenly told Parker about the weapons, which made her groan. She was never a fan of any kind of weaponry that she should use… except tasers. Now that, she loved. But Parker doubted that the armory Johnny mentioned would have a truckload of various tasers. It was not considered as a weapon, after all. Before Johnny basically snap to end the tour, Parker was about to ask who the heck Ares was since he mentioned him twice. But sadly, the answer that she seek must be answered later on, because suddenly a pudgy man approached them both with clipboard in hand. Parker was not paying attention before, but as the man called her, she rolled her eyes and stare at him. She was not responding… until the man claimed her as his daughter.

Now, to be claimed by a god or goddess tend to be a privilege. However, everyone knew that Parker was not normal. In fact, she was a little bit crazy. That was what a specialist, three psychotherapist, 5 psychologist, and 12 doctor plus countless nurse had say about her every time she got herself in a insanity test or in any kind of interview. Yes, that’s a lot of people that she had to deal with, but Parker can’t help it. Her insane obsession towards money and expensive things plus her obvious awkwardness to people that surrounded her… it’s possible that she might have a mental issue. Hence that’s why her parentage was not that strange: as a daughter of Dionysus, the Wine God, who was known for his insanity specialty. Sadly, Parker didn’t know who this man was.

The only thing she could do was tilting her head while Mr. D gave her his gift: a biting bag. Parker can’t help but grin while accepting it. This was perfect for her. Now Parker didn’t have to make traps again! She would only stash her precious items here and be done with it. No mess, no fuss. Parker didn’t even realize when her father informed her to stay at the Dionysus cabin and eventually shouted to the kids that kept staring at them. After Mr. D walked away, the newly claimed daughter of the Wine God finally spoke. “So… do I still get to sleep here now?” And then she jerked her head towards the man’s silhouette. “And who is that? Though I have to admit, this bag is cool! Will be great for keeping my loots out of pesky hands.” She proudly patted that bag while waiting for Johnny to answer. Looks like she had to bare with him for a couple more minutes, or worse… the entire day. For Parker had no clue what just happened to her earlier.

So this was the camp director. Johnny had never really met the guy; he only knew he was the semi cranky god of wine. He watched carefully as Dionysus oh-so-casually claimed his daughter, and raised his eyebrows when a newer bag was given, one that would bite anyone who tried to take anything from it. Talk about discouraging the Hermes kids. For sure, Johnny would be careful with helping kids carry luggage now, for sure. He tried to keep a straight face and act like he saw one of these every day. In all honesty, he wished that was the case, but it had really only been his and Glam’s odd claiming, and now this one.

The newly claimed daughter of Dionysus accepted the bag quite happily, as far as Johnny could tell. He put a grim face on and resolved to stay away from that bag. Magic was just off in that way, meaning you couldn’t fight it with words or sword. “That would be Lord Dionysus,” Johnny replied dryly, trying to keep the humor out of his tone. “The god of wine and our very powerful camp director.” Johnny eyed the bag as he continued. “Very cool bag, keep it away from me.” Johnny liked his hands attached to his body, thanks.

Johnnyboy looked down at the selected sleeping bag, and kicked it lightly. Just because Parker wouldn’t need didn’t mean it was retired, Johnny could imagine even more kids using this bag in the future. “You won’t need this,” he replied simply, sliding it across the floor with his foot, away from him. “You’ll need to move to Cabin 12, which is right over there.” Johnny navigated his way back through the crowded cabin, headed for the doorway.

Once he reached said doorway, Johnny stepped outside quickly. Let Parker catch up on her own time. He leaned on the wall, and could practically feel the paint chipping off the old cabin. He ignored that, however, and focused his sights on Cabin 12, on the end of the row, and obviously the one belonging to Dionysus. The grapevines lining the walls and roof gave it away.

He wasn’t sure if Parker had come out with him or not, since he was facing away from the door, but he spoke anyway. “Nice cabin, huh? All by yourself, in charge of yourself…” he trailed off, not sure what he thought about that. Independence was something he understood, but never really used. In general, the gang worked as one giant machine, and that didn’t provide a lot of room to grow into your own person. Yet somehow, they all managed anyway. Johnny just wasn’t sure whether the person he projected to everyone was the person he was deep down. Maybe, maybe not. But these were musings for another time.

“You should probably head there now. You can go alone, or I can come,” Johnny continued, leaving it open for Parker. He honestly didn’t care; he’d done his duty as a guide. It was up to Parker now on whether she could stand his company or not.

Lord Dionysus? Parker frowned upon listening to that explanation while removing her precious belongings to the biting bag. ”Is he a British Royalty?”, she asked with a pure curious tone. From what she learned, Archie taught Parker that the term ‘Lord’ is one of many royalty title that scattered in United Kingdom. So of course she think of it literally, not at a sarcasm meaning like Johnny meant. Not waiting for his answer, Parker put the last item in her brand new bag, which was her precious pink stuffed bunny. Smiling, Parker patted her bag before putting it on her shoulder. “Don’t eat my bunny now, dear biting bag.” She whispered, but quickly turned her face to a serious one when facing Johnny once again. Parker didn’t care if he heard what she whispered: he had spent a fair amount of time with her now. Johnny must have figure out by now that she was not a normal person… at least, she didn’t sound or act like a normal one.

Johnny eventually kicked the dreaded yet old sleeping bag that Parker just prepared before, since she won’t be needing that anymore. Then he told her to move to cabin 12. Parker nodded in agreement, then asked, “Where is it?” She never really got a home before, so Parker couldn’t hide her excitement. But she was afraid that she might have roommates, since the girl never really get along with… just about anybody. She stumbled on a enstranged sock while following Johnny to the doorway, and eventually standing beside where he leaned at the wall. Her eyes looked at what he saw; a peculiar building with grapevines as its garden and walls. Then Parker suddenly smacked her forehead: she remembered who Dionysus was. Archie told her about him sometimes, while he was teaching the gorgeous art of wine tasting, something that he claimed would be useful in the future for Parker. However, even though she could tell the difference (thanks to Archie’s patient and diligence) between a cheap wine and a fine Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the daughter of Dionysus rather drink a cold Cola above all else.

She was still wondering about how on earth Dionysus could be her father, when Johnny spoke again. And now, he implied that Parker would be alone in the Dionysus cabin, which snapped her back to reality. She can’t help but grin. “Really? All by myself?” Parker had to tugged her new bag several time just to calm herself down, but of course her squeal gave it away. “Haha! This would be awesome then!” She quickly dashed to her new house. But something that Archie said before she got to this Camp stopped her. This is a chance for you to be normal. Breathing heavily, Parker remembered that if one wants to be normal, she had to say the one thing she didn’t want to say the most: Thank you. So, instead of saying it, Parker decided to tell her gratitude in a different way.

After successfully rummaging through her new biting bag once more, Parker pulled out one of the most memorable loot she had, and hid it behind her back while walking back towards Johnny. “There. It’s… for you.” She showed him an intricate pocket watch. She took a deep breath before explaining the history behind that precious item. “It was originally made by a famous watchmaker, Abraham Louis-Breguet, as a gift to Marie Antoinette by an unknown admirer.” Parker’s history on this pocket watch was pristine, and Johnny probably didn’t have any idea who Marie Antionette was, but she pushed on. She wanted him to know that this loot was priceless.”It eventually find its way to a museum, but got stolen in 1983 by a great thief named Na’aman Diller. Founded back in 2007, and finally got a place in some rich man’s pocket… until I stole it, that is.” Parker snickered evilly. “I stole it when I was fourteen. Archie was persuading a Sheik to buy a fake Degas, while I was just giggling happily while reading a book… then he gave me the hint. So I pretend that I wasn’t looking, and I swipe it.” She tapped the edges lightly while smirking. “It’s mostly made of 18-carat gold, with crystal glass dials to show of it’s mechanism. There’s perpetual calendar, thermometer, shock-absorbing device, the phases of the moon and a repeater that chimes every hour.”

But then Parker quickly realize that she never spoke so much to a new person before. Clearing her throat, the blonde girl turned red as an apple and shoved that priceless antique to Johnny’s hand. “Just… take it. As a token for all of your trouble. And I can get to my cabin by myself. So you don’t have to accompany me anymore.” With that, the daughter of Dionysus take her leave. And that’s how Parker usually end her conversation: no thank you, no good byes. But at least, now she made a different, even though it’s a small one. Maybe Johnny was rude at first, but he stick with her the whole time, when she was asking peculiar questions and even blurting out weirder response. So in a way, Parker already said her thank you. And, after what seemed forever, she was glad to find someone new.

((So yeah, this will be my last response to this thread. And I must say I am GLAD WITH IT. XD The story about that watch was partially true-clicky for the true article Very Happy- and YAAAY for Johnny who got his first thank you from Parker! Very Happy Lovely thread. should do it again sometime! XD))

There were times when Parker picked things up fast, and then there were times where Johnny felt like he had to explain things that weren’t necessary to explain. Then again, he didn’t mind answering questions. That’s what he was here for. Besides, he had had to answer way weirder questions, some of which had awkward answers. Johnny shook his head slightly to try and forget that one incident. “Not British royalty, wrong religion,” Johnny said with a chuckle, zoning back into the conversation. “Although, if you call him royalty, he’ll either turn you into a dolphin or love it, so it’s your choice,” he continued thoughtfully, musing on the things he’d heard on their camp director. Johnny had heard a lot, some of which were obviously not true, some he had read in mythology books, and some which could be debatable, but knowing the god’s reputation, may or may not be true. Either way, the majority of the rumors had one theme, which was to not get on the god’s bad side, so Johnny decided to just come off as another nameless camper. If he didn’t call attention to himself, there’d be no need for trouble.

Johnny didn’t answer Parker’s question on the cabin, it was a bit obvious, and she seemed to pick it up anyway. He wasn’t surprised when she sounded happy to be by herself, she had come across that way when he’d first welcomed her. Then again, maybe she’d find as time passed that being alone wasn’t all that it cracked up to be. That was confirmed when she said it’d be awesome. Johnny, not feeling inclined to argue, didn’t reply, but instead shrugged his shoulders, as if to say whatever. Being alone was nice at first, he supposed, but he didn’t prefer it. He’d rather be with Meatcleaver and Glam, since they knew him better than anyone else. Still, he sometimes wondered if they really knew him, or even if he knew himself, but those were thoughts for another time, so Johnny ignored them, and decided to stop ignoring the girl in front of him.

When Parker took out a very nice watch, and gave it to him, Johnny’s brow crinkled in confusion. What was this, and why was she giving it to him? Parker started explaining it, and it made more sense as she did. She had obviously done her history on her stolen items, whatever they may be. This was shown as she finished explaining what this watch was, and what it did. He wasn’t exactly sure who half the people she had said were, but he was pretty sure one of them was French. He turned it over in his hand, and he had to say, he was very impressed by the fine craftsmanship.

Parker looked a bit uncomfortable, which Johnny mirrored in the fact that he’d never been given anything this nice before. Or that much, in general. Being Glam’s brother, Johnny had come to appreciate beauty in objects, and this watch certainly qualified. “No trouble at all,” he replied smoothly to Parker’s comment. Regardless of what this girl responded to, Johnny was still a politician, and words was his territory. “Have fun then,” Johnny replied, and Parker walked away. He stood still for two seconds, then slipped the watch in his pocket. As much as he was sure Glam would enjoy it, he’d keep it to himself. If words were his strength, secrets were his life. Johnny kept plenty of secrets, and he had no desire to tell any of them to anybody, not even his gang. He wouldn’t want them to think he’d gone soft.

Time had passed since Johnny had welcomed Parker, and it was now late afternoon. Dinner wasn’t for a while, so Johnny took advantage of his free time. Moving now, he headed for one of his favorite spots, although he’d never admit it. The Long Island Sound was better than the arena, in his opinion. His plans? Watch the view. Life passed so fast, and everyone was always in a hurry to live it. Sometimes you just needed to apply the brakes, and take a vacation from the journey. And that was exactly what Johnny intended to do.
