Some notices before the epic thread starts. We need some rules here to keep this from turning to Chaos!

Keep it PG13, any swears and such must be blanked out and if you don't do it, I will!!! (And You'll face my wrath)
Don't spam the thread! This is several things, no OOC posts unless absolutely needed and they will (most likely) be deleted afterwards. Also, no two people posting after each other all night so that everybody falls behind. There is no posting order but try to give most people a chance to reply so we can all keep up!
Alex is the DJ, he will change songs. You can always PM him suggestions for songs.

THERE WILL BE A KING AND QUEEN BY ELECTIONS!! For those willing to have their character go through all that mess, please send Me, Clove Tyler, a PM and I shall add you to the poll. The last option for entering your name (your char doesn't have to like nominations) is on Wednesday the 7th. I will Make the polls on Thursday and voting will start.

That's it for the rules, for now. Any new ones will be added here and mentioned in an OOC notice in a post.

Clove was shouting at her siblings, loudly. It was the only fun she was likely to have, commanding them around to put all things up in the amphitheatre for the big dance. People had been anticipating it but somehow, organising it had fallen to the Ares cabin. Clove still wondered why the Aphrodite cabin hadn't been so eager to do it, although she secretly suspected Alex wanted her to suffer. Well, she wasn't going to give him any satisfaction about it. Luckily, Sophie had offered to help set things up and plan and so Clove wasn't fully on her own, although two war cabins setting up for a social event just wasn't natural. Clove shot a look at Sophie, who was helping her own cabin set things up. Yeah, Clove only commanded. She had already changed into her dress and wasn't going to break a sweat now.

Clove had shouted, a lot and her throat was a little sore but nothing really impressive. She looked down at her dress, which she'd bought with Alex as soon as they'd found out about this dance. It was orange, strapless and cute. Clove didn't like cute much but the dress was rather perfect for her. Her face was relatively clear of make up, just a little eyeliner and mascara, some light lipstick and a minor blush. Oh, never forget the eyeshadow or the Aphrodite girls might kill you. Clove had let a bunch of girls do her hair and make up. They had wanted to let her hair hand lose but Clove had gotten that idea out the window. It wasn't her usual hairdo but it kept the hair out of her face, which mattered most to Clove.

Alex had helped her to pick out the dress after Andrew had asked her out. Everything was so crazy, Clove had never realised just how much happened at dances, even though she'd crashed a fair number of them in her past. With a sigh Clove turned to a few of her siblings, who were failing at hanging curtains. Well, the curtains hung, they just failed at keeping them stuck to the walls. With an irritated glance Clove retrieved a throwing knife and used that to attach the cloth to the wall. There, all set.

Clove looked around, everything seemed to be ready, apart from her people. She started rushing them off to get them to look decent. Who would have ever believed that anybody could get the sons of Ares to wear suits? Well, Clove had managed it and was quite proud of that. Now she only had to make sure they weren't the only ones in formal attire. The solution was simple though, those without formal clothes were allowed to be forced into it and her siblings were rather good at that sort of thing.

Clove walked up to the stage and tested the sound system, the microphone and watched people putting up food and drinks on long tables. She checked in the place where the Apollo kids kept their instruments to find the two crowns waiting, all shiny. Clove was terrified of those things, even though she'd never be picked, they always intimidated her for some strange reason. Clove, royal? Never. All the people who she remembered winning were so poised and elegant that they made Clove feel like a blundering fool. Clove could dance, or at least well enough for a highschool dance but being the center of such attention? No, she'd rather beat up the entire spartan army on her own without a single knife. She walked back again to find the first people had started to arrive. With a sigh she realised it was time.

She walked up and grabbed the mircophone, glaring around the still fairly empty room for silence. "Welcome, welcome. I'm sure you're all more exited than I am but just for the record, my cabin was asked to make sure that things don't go inappropriate, which mean that any one of us will beat you to a pulp if you put a toe out of line. Behave and you might leave without a black eye or broken nose. Good luck and I wish you all a happy Summer Dance!" She said, attempting enthousiasm and failing. She put the microphone away and walked down the steps, looking for any of her friends so she wouldn't stand around awkwardly, doing nothing at all.

There was going to be a dance at Camp Half-Blood. Sophie had a hard time believing it. Demigods neevr really had a chance to party, most of their time was spent on learning new skills, and not getting eaten. She had never been to a regular dance, much less to a demigod dance, so she wasn't sure what to expect. Hopefully no monsters would crash the party. That was the worst type of guest.

Somehow, the task had fallen on the Ares cabin to organize the party. Sophie wasn't really sure that was a good idea, so she had quickly volunteered the Athena cabin to help prepare as well. The Athena kids were great strategists, for everything, and parties were certainly something plan-able. Clove was shouting orders to everyone, and was already dressed up. Sophie sighed. She was helping two of her siblings hang up some curtains, and she needed to get changed soon. At the same time, she didn't want to leave her cabin alone. But, it was either that, or be at a party in really casual clothes.

Deciding to go change, Sophie made sure the Athena cabin would be fine without her. After making sure, she hurried to the cabin, getting dressed up, hoping she wouldn't be overdressed. The way Clove was dressed, however, she'd probably be fine. She decided, just for balance, to leave her hair down, and just comb it thouroghly. Sophie quickly applied some make-up (it wasn't like she was a cavewoman when it came to style), and looked around the cabin one more time, to see if she forgot anything. All good. Sophie shook her head, marveling at the fact she was actually going to go to a dance, instead of just reading. She exited the cabin quickly.

Upon making it back to the Amphitheater, Sophie noticed that several people had already arrived. Guess they got the invitations. Sophie glanced around, not quite sure where to go. She walked a little farther in, and stopped again. She crossed her arms, to try and appear casual, and scanned the crowd. Maybe she'd be able to get away with talking to Clove, or at least someone she vaguely knew. She couldn't find anybody though, so she decided to get something to drink. At least that'd give her something to do.

Sophie poured herself a cup of punch, the same punch she'd made an hour earlier. She smiled briefly, but it quickly vanished. She took a sip, and considered leaving. She didn't want to be awkwardly standing there the whole night. She alternated between drinking the punch and scanning the crowd, hoping it wouldn't just be a party of strangers. She could vaguely hear Clove making an announcement, then leaving, but she probably had better things to do than talk to a nerd like Sophie. Still, she had planned this thing out.

Sophie went to go sit down, and came to the conclusion she'd just watch. She wanted to see how people reacted, and whether or not they liked her handiwork.

PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptySun Jun 03, 2012 7:14 pm

The day had come for the dance at Camp Half-Blood. Even though he was dreading this day unlike the other Aphrodite kids, he was looking forward to see what was going to happen AFTER the dance. Many things had happened during the prom or dance for Alex the last couple of years. He'd gotten a DUI, he woke up in the Seattle Space needle, he'd even found himself in the middle of a bank robbery. Alex was wondering what was going to happen. So instead of being a guest at this prom he decided he was going to DJ. Maybe even perform a song. But he didn't not want to be close to the drinks of the food. Usually some kid spiked the punch bowl ever year at a Prom or dance. He did not want to find himself on a ship to the Underworld.

Alex started to set up the speakers with help of some Apollo kids. He grabbed his laptop and his DJ spin board. He had done some beats and burned some CD's the last couple of days. He sighed. The last couple of day's had been stressful. Getting angry at his best friend for bringing him into something he never was a part of, being forced to help Clove pick out a dress untill he saw the one that was perfect for her. Even Alex had told her she looked beatifull in the dress. He got dressed in the clothes he picked out plus he put a tie on under his hoodie so he wouldn't have to fight an Ares kid.

As Alex finished up his things he went on his Laptop and Pulled up his playlist and started to spin. He pulled up his microphone. "Yoyo! It's your favorite Demigod DJ... DJ AJ! Imma start out with the dance songs for all you party people and then after the intermission we'll do the slow dances for all you couples out there!" Alex said. He let "Don't Wanna Go Home" By Jason Derulo and looked at Clove. Singaling her to see if she could get him some water.

PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptySun Jun 03, 2012 8:43 pm

Camp half-blood. Having a dance? Pah! This was going to be good, really good. Especially if the rumors were right, and Clove was hosting it, with the help of the Ares cabin... Except the formal part. Septimus didn't really have anything formal, so this posed a problem.Septimus only had one tie... which he didn't even know how to tie... so... oh well! He'd find a way to just get past the rules! There was at least one way.

Finally, he found something he hoped he wouldn't get yelled at for. It was a dark blue hoodie, black dress-ish pants, some black and blue DC shoes, and a black tie, though it hung out of the pocket in his hoodie instead of around his neck. That was formal enough, right? Well, then if Clove or some other Ares kid saw him, they could sue him. Or just beat him up, which would probably work better, because most of them were minors... not to mention the police didn't even bother with camp, there wasn't much to sue him on, and they would have more fun beating him up. Heck, they would have fun beating anyone up, even Zeus! They would probably win, too.

Somehow, Sep arrived a bit early. He had no idea how, but he arrived right before Clove made her announcement. Wait a second... was she--? Was Clove wearing a dress?! Oh my gods, she was! She looked good in it too, but Sep tried to not think about that. He had half a mind to cat call. Which, on accident, he did. Luckily, he soon hid the fact he had, looking around, like everyone else. Heh, they were all so clueless. Of course, no one would think it would actually be Sep who would do that. Not that he usually would. Usually he would just be standing at the side, waiting. As soon as everyone gave up, this is what he did.

There was some lonely girl at the drinks table, and Sep was thirsty. He didn't want to talk to her, but... what if he wanted a drink? What if he was really thirsty, but didn't want to talk to her? Or he just wanted to spike the punch? Oh, that would be hilarious! A bunch of drunk demigods dancing, and... wow. This made Sep mildly curious as to how Clove acted drunk... why was he so obsessed with Clove lately? Maybe because she might kill him for his outfit? Maybe something else... oh well.

Well, Sep wanted something to drink, which overruled the need to not socialize. He walked over there, and started ladling out some punch into a cup.

The Only and Only Dance. Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptySun Jun 03, 2012 11:15 pm

Karen stepped out of the shower and dried herself off, she wondered what the dance later that night would be like. She had decided to go to the beginning of summer dance alone, but she bet a lot of boys would have loved to go with her, she just had to ask them, but none seemed fit. She dried out her hair and got dressed in what she would wear to the dance later that evening, in fact, in about an hour. She was going to wear a simple strapless white dress that glimmered, she had gotten it before she got to camp for the summer session, she knew that there would be dances, though she rarely dressed up like she was going to tonight. She also just had wedges and she had her hair down, but she curled it a bit. As usual, she didn't have any jewlrey or make-up on.

Once Karen was dressed and her hair was dried out completely and done the way she wished, she stepped out of the bathroom and headed towards the amphitheater where she could see the decorations were done and they were announcing some stuff, she could also see people entering the area and taking seats. As she neared she could hear a girl in an orange dress, a daughter of Ares, it was strange that the Ares Cabin was coordinating this, but it better be worth it. She was saying, "...exited than I am but just for the record, my cabin was asked to make sure that things don't go inappropriate, which mean that any one of us will beat you to a pulp if you put a toe out of line. Behave and you might leave without a black eye or broken nose. Good luck and I wish you all a happy Summer Dance!" She earned the failed enthusiasm award.

Karen wasn't expecting to be the Queen of the dance or anything special, she was pretty, but she wasn't worthy and she could have cared less about it, though if she won she would be excited. She walked into the amphitheater and grabbed some punch, hoping they weren't spiked, but she doubted that a demigod would be able to sneak drugs into camp. Then she noticed beer, would Chiron allow that? There were no half-bloods of age that she knew of, but there had to be a few otherwise it wouldn't be there. She noticed a blonde haired girl ((Sophie)) sitting alone at a table, she looked like an Athena child. Karen decided to sit there, she came up to the table and sat down across from her, "Do you mind if I sit here?" she asked smiling, "By the way, I am Karen Westbrook, here alone." She took a sip of the punch and knew it wasn't spiked, thank the gods, she didn't want to have to deal with that. She brushed some hair out of her eyes and ran her hand through her hair. She could tell some boys were staring at her, but she ignored them, at least they payed more attention to Aphrodite children, and she wasn't one of them that she knew of, and she hoped she wasn't an Aphrodite child, besides, she had a mortal mother, that made her more comfortable on that subject. "Aren't you an Athena child? I think I have seen you around that cabin." Karen asked her. The music then started playing and the DJ was an Aphrodite kid, that didn't seem right but he was pretty good at it, though she didn't think he looked that good. The dance had started.

PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptyMon Jun 04, 2012 9:00 am

Clove glared around the room when somebody dared to give a catcall. What was going on here? She almost rubbed her arms nervously, remembering the make-up the Aphrodite girls had plastered over her scars just in time. How shocked they had been at the horrid things, it was highly amusing to Clove. Clove started walking around the floor, keeping a close eye on the people present. The turn up for the start was quite good. She walked to the drinks table, pooring herself some punch and taking a tentative sip. She had learned quite early that drinks tended to be more than just drinks on dances. It tasted normal though, and Clove drank the rest of her glass without much worries. She suddenly noticed that a couple of beers were on the table. With a frustrated groan she grabbed the things and walked over to the garbage. She smashed all the bottles and let the beer poor before throwing away the leftovers of the bottles. Nobody would be able to drink that.

She looked back at the drinks table, where several people she knew were gathered. She walked up to the lot of them, smiling. She was supposed to be a hostess after all. The entire business was nothing for Clove but she wasn't one to back down from a task. She shot a look at Alex, who was asking for a drink. She guessed he wanted punch and she was very much tempted to give him a solid one in the stomach but that would leave her without a DJ. She grabbed a cup and filled it with some punch and brought it over to Alex. "Say thank you." She demanded before setting the cup down and moving on again. She was rather busy making sure this thing went according to plan. She had yet to make a list of nominees for King and Queen and went to check the entries. She opened the box and found only a few slabs of paper. The voting would start soon enough and she needed candidates for people to vote. She checked the entries and was extremely surprised to find her own name in it. Well, with only two others so far she'd have to enter some more people herself. Not that she could win but she wasn't the type of girl to take those risks.

Clove went back to the drinks table and quickly poored some punch into her cup again before heading away. Septimus was there and she decided to ignore him for a little while, it surely couldn't hurt him with his semi-formal attire. Sophie was there, and she didn't exactly want to think about strategy or the offer she'd gotten from Lady Artemis. There was another girl there who she didn't know and wasn't too eager to meet at that point. She did wave at them and walked away again, lucky to have a good reason. One of her siblings had started a fight with one of the Athena boys. The two were about to start a really serious fight. Clove's hand reached for the necklace she'd gotten from her father, the only jewel she wore. The other people had to submit their weapons but naturally Clove needed to keep people in check so she was allowed her one weapon, and the few knives she'd hidden anyway.

Spear. She thought and pulled the charm. A really long spear appeared and Clove put the point against the chest of her sibling, saving the nicer end for the Athenian. She gave them both a glare. "I don't want to fight in a dress so you better break this up. Don't start again or I will pull your guts out of your bodies." She said and the two quickly looked for other occupations. Clove sat down on a chair with a big sigh. This was so much bother, why did people like organising this thing in the first place? She transformed her spear back into the necklace and started twirling a knife in her hands, purely out of habit. She looked around the party, trying to find people going out of line. She didn't want to get in trouble at camp now that she couldn't escape. If somebody was doing things she didn't like, they would regret it.

((Rule addition!! NO ALCOHOL!!! If I find your character drinking the stuff Clove will take it or I'll just mod it out. Let's keep this clean, shall we? (Modding out just means you won't be getting drunk of alcohol but off soda/water/punch) For those who noticed Septimus might spike the punch, she had permission if she manages to get it done without Clove watching, and she's watching rather closely.

This thread is still wide open! Don't forget to join! Don't forget to turn people in for King and Queen! I will post every nominee on Thursday and at that point the voting will start!))

Alex looked around. People where dancing. He wanted EVERYBODY to dance. Alex put his headphones to this left ear and while "Don't Wanna go Home" By Jason Derulo was ending he switched the song to "Hangover" By Taio Cruz. "Thank you Miss Clove! By the way.. You do look beatiful in that dress." He said in a friendly tone, he said. It was hard being Clover Tyler's friend. You'd have to deal with the fact that if you slip up she'll try to kill you. Alex saw the Ares kids that he had fought the other day when he had met the little girl named Poppy. They looked decent. But if they tried anything, Alex wouldn't be afraid to beat them up. Alex of course couldn't take ALL the Ares kids, because lots of them where smart and didn't attack on impulse. Alex easily took down people who attacked on Impulse. He popped his knuckles and they sounded through his microphone.

As he saw Sep, Alex had half a mind to jump down from the skybox he was in and take his sword to impale Sep in the throat. Alex was still angry at him for the stunt he pulled. Alex decided to shrug off and thing about what Clove was going to say about the "Hangover" song since it involved drinking. As soon as he was done with the party songs he'd leave a song on so Alex can dance infront of everybody.

PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptyMon Jun 04, 2012 10:33 am

Sophie went to go refill her punch. She was quite happy with how this was turning out. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and even Clove hadn't tried to kill anybody yet. There was that one dispute between an Ares kid and an Athena kid, at which Sophie frowned at, but it quickly got resolved. Sophie just guessed the party wound the kids up.

As she finished, she noticed a guy staring at her, somewhat nervously. Almost like he wanted to go there, but didn't want to be around her. Sophie sighed in her cup. She was willing to ignore him. At least, until he came to get some punch, and began ignoring her. That made Sophie a bit mad, that he would take her strategy. Now she had to figure something out. Sophie gave a small smile as she decided what to do, and she got closer.

"I wouldn't judge people, or you might find yourself on the receiving end," Sophie said softly. She was close enough for only the guy to hear her, but not too close, so it made it awkward. She gave him a nod, and turned to head back to the table. She didn't expect any more visitors, so she relaxed in her chair, and watched other demigods dance.

Another girl came up to her, and asked to sit down. Sophie motioned towards an empty chair. She didn't have anything to hold against people who were actually polite. The girl intrdouced herself as Karen, and asked if she was an Athena kid. Sophie smiled. Finally, someone with brains. Although, Sophie hadn't exactly been hiding. Maybe the blond hair had given it away, or the owl jewelry. It didn't matter. Someone was being nice to her, the least Sophie could do was respond.

"Yeah, I'm Sophie Rainde, cabin leader for Athena," Sophie said with a smile. If you got on her good side, she was all smiles. Otherwise, not so much. She was also a little proud of being a cabin leader. Leading a cabin was no small feat, and the fact Sophie did it with what she considered to be good tactics, well, it was enough to make anyone feel good. Sophie rememebered that small fight that had occured between an Athena kid and the Ares kid. She was going to speak to him later, so that no Athenian misbehaves on her watch. For the good of the cabin, of course.

She focused back on Karen, since she was pretty sure she had spaced out there. She saw a few guys checking Karen out, and wanted to sigh. It was always Sophie plus some really attractive girl, and they could never have a real conversation with those guys floating around. It wasn't Karen's fault of course, but Sophie wondered if it was possible to have a conversation with one other girl without some guy butting in. Obviously not. So she focused back on Karen again, to shoo those thoughts away. Besides, she should see how other people thought this turned out.

"So, what do you think of the dance? Don't worry, the punch isn't spiked yet, for all I know," Sophie asked, then trailed off a bit at the end. She knew what the punch was supposed to taste like, and so far, it tasted that way, but there were always trouble-makers around. Most likely some Hermes kid was gonna try, although Clove seemed to be doing a good job of dsicouraging anybody.

Poppy set down her hairbrush and sighed. How did she even get talked into going to a dance? Dances werent really her style eith all the ribbons and the banners and the whole superficial "pink" theme every danced seemed to incorperate. At first she figured that the Aphrodite kids would be in charge of setting it up and just love the thought they would just love to run around the amphitheater with streamers and ribbons and throwing glitter everywhere like a stereotypical Aphrodite child. However, then she heard the Ares kids were planning it instead and Poppy couldn't resist. She thought that maybe it wouldn't be so mushy gushy, but more Ares-y

Every one she had ever been to was with her aunt and uncle was some stupid "rich" party with plastic adults. She was always supposed to act like a good little girl so her aunt practically glued her to her chair. All the adults thought that, to have a good party they had to go all out and spend all their money on this and that and stupid decorations. Now, Poppy wasn't saying the decorations and entertainment didn't cost a lot of money, but the punch was normally just Sprite and fruit juice in a plastic bowl. There was also alcohol which was and she couldn't even drink, so she basically had all the punch to herself since there were no other kids besides her.

Poppy sighed and looked into the mirror, putting her left eye closer to the glass. She could she the makeup she put on and thought it looked fairly good. She was no Aphrodite kid, but her guardians always made her put on makeup before a party and they weren't going to do it for her so she was left to fen for herself. She had gotten the Hermes kids to steal some makeup from the Aphrodite cabin because she hardly ever wore it. She shut her eye to make sure she liked what it looked like. She had put a black eyeshadow on, then a light gray over it, then a sparkly silver dusted on the top. Poppy thought it looked good with the small amount of black eyeliner and mascara she had also put on. She took a deep breath and hooked her skip necklace around her neck, you ne'er know when you might new a knife.

It wasn't enough to make her look a lot older or make her look like a Babie doll, just enough to make her eyes pop with the purple she had gotten at a prom dress shop. Originally she had wanted a black dress but there was hard to find a tiny one for a kid, so she had to settle with a dark is purple one. Poppy scooted back the stool she was sitting on and slipped on her gloves and black knee high boots. They weren't normal shoes for a party, but she didn't want flats or heels, boots were the answers. She sighed and opened the door, it was kind of chilly outside although it was getting kind of late. She saw kids sitting around the amphitheater and knew they must be waiting to go in.

Poppy walked over there and went threw the doorway. Well, it wasn't as Ares-y as she had expected but at least it wasn't totally pink. She glanced around at the tables, trying to catch a glimpse of someone she might know. She finally noticed Alex up on the stage, so she figured he was DJing. After looking around some more she noticed Clove near the punch table arguing with some kids. Poppy wondered if she should say hi, after they had met in the Arena, they hadn't talked much since then. Poppy leaned up against the wall and figured if Clove noticed her she could say hi if she wanted to, Poppy didn't want to seem pushy. After all, it had taken them a little while to start talking to each other the first time.

Karen Westbrook

"Yeah, I'm Sophie Rainde, cabin leader for Athena," the girl said. That was a rather nice name, and that would explain how she looked familiar, she was a cabin leader. "I bet that would be hard work, you have a big cabin there." Karen replied. She could feel the stares as boys checked her out, she really wished they could leave her alone for at least one day, she couldn't help it that they thought she was pretty. Karen brushed her hair out of her face, she looked around looking at the dance scene, the boys that were staring were on the opposite side of the punch table, they made eye contact for a second and they turned around blushing. Karen just rolled her eyes at them.

Karen could tell that Sophie knew they werre checking her out, "Do you want to move so we can talk in a place that they don't stare at me?" she asked wanting to get out of the way of the stares for once. "How about the punch table?" Sophie said something about going somewhere else so Karen got up and headed to the punch table and refilled her punch then turned to the other people crowding around. There wasn't anyone she knew but the girl who was announcing stuff and apparently the head of the dance was there, she introduced herself to them, "Hey guys, I'm Karen Westbrook." She couldn't feel the stares anymore, thank the gods, now she just hoped that the guys where she was wouldn't flirt with her.

Andrew had to get ready though he really didn't want to, he was busy taking a nap in thee Apollo Cabin when his alarm woke him up. Yes, he was excited for what was to happen that night, and what was going to happen? His date with Clove, his girlfriend. It would happen at the dance. He stood up then went to shower. Andrew then got dressed in a blue pinstripe short sleeve oxford and a red tie along with khaki pants. He never understood formality, it was supposed to be about the person themselves right? Not how nice the clothes they wore were.

Andrew then stepped outside into the hot New York summer air, he was fully dressed and ready for the dance. He had checked himself several times though he knew Clove wouldn't care. As he neared the area of the dance, the amphitheater, he could hear his girlfriend over the loudspeakers announcing some stuff with failed enthusiasm. He chuckled to himself, she wasn't to enthusiastic.

He walked in and looked around, he then after finding Clove breaking some beer bottles, headed over to her. She looked amazing in the dress and make-up. "Hey! You look amazing!" he said to her as he got closer. They were at the punch bowl, and Andrew went and stood next to her, that is when a girl with brown hair showed up introducing herself as Karen Westbrook, she looked great, but he had a girlfriend and wasn't going to stare or anything, though he could tell several other boys stared at her. "Hey Karen, I'm Andrew Kicklighter, son of Apollo." He noticed "Hangover" by Taio Cruze was playing in the background, man that movie was funny, then he turned to look at Clove, "So, how are you doing tonight?"

Clove didn't really listen to the words of the music, nor to Alex. Yes, he was a nice boy and Clove still hadn't figured out if she could deal with that. Her friends so far had been from one club, and that was the mean and wicked one. Yet she threw him a quick smile as she moved on again. Clove just kept moving and expected to be doing that for most of the night. She got uneasy if she stopped going around and having fun. Well, as much fun as one could have at a dance. She looked around a bit, trying to spot the different people around her and who needed some talking to. She spotted Velvet, leaning against the wall and decided to talk to the girl for a bit.

"Hello Velvet." She said when she was near the younger girl. "Having fun?" She asked casually while checking the girls dress. She managed to look some sort of cute mixed with the right amount of subtle warning, just perfect! "I love what you did with the dress and all." She complimented the younger girl. She just hoped that Poppy wouldn't misundertand her comment and freak out over it. That wouldn't end too well, even less so after all the trouble Clove had done to attempt to befriend the girl.

At that point another person joined her, it was Andrew, her confusingly new boyfriend. He complimented her looks, which Clove wasn't used to. She could handle it though, as it was with most things he did and said. Clove was like a socially awkward penguin when it came to normal interaction and Andrew, he was a natural. She shot a smile at him. "Hi Andrew, are you liking the party a little?" She asked him as she took his hand and pulled him a little closer. Much better for Clove. If he could just show her how normal people acted she might not make a complete fool of herself. She fidgetted with the necklace from her dad for a bit but soon enough relaxed a tiny bit.

Another girl walked up to them, introducing herself as Karen. Andrew greeted her politely, giving his last name, which amused Clove to a rather large degree. She was in a relationship with somebody and had only found out his last name a moment ago. Talking about unusual things when she went around dating people. She hoped she just seemed to be having fun, rather than laughing at the rather strange fact. "Hello Karen, I'm Clove and this is Velvet." She said, introducing Poppy by the name she'd given the girl. She knew how dodgy Poppy could be about her name and so she didn't think the girl would mind too much.

She thought about Andrews question for a moment. "I guess I'm good. This entire thing is a lot more stressful than I thought it would be. I'm not really good at stage and I'm still trying to find the person who did that catcall so I can sharpen my knife on him. The discomfort is rather serious." She said with a shrug and looked around, hoping to spot some trouble she could stop. She wouldn't mind some action. She suddenly remembered what people were supposed to do at dances, dance! How brilliant an observation. Clove smiled at Andrew a little uncertainly. "So, do you want to dance?" She asked him.

PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptyTue Jun 05, 2012 6:12 pm

Karen seemed as aware as Sophie was about the guys. This made Sophie want to laugh, but for Karen’s sake, she stayed quiet. A smile tugged at her lips, but she disguised it by drinking her punch. Sophie liked Karen, and she liked the way she thought. So far, this party was proving to be very nice, but Sophie didn’t want to sit down forever, that would just be boring.

She looked around for anybody else to hang out with, or a new potential friend. She saw Clove guarding the punch bowl, but she didn’t walk over to her. She wasn’t in the mood for a lecture, or for gloating. She’d talk to Clove later, if she got really bored. Sophie kept scanning the room. She saw the weird guy by the punch as well and there was a 12 year old girl who had just entered. Sophie smiled again, had a little girl come to play with the big kids?

Sophie’s eyes finally came to rest on the stage. There was a familiar face too, Alex. She had met him briefly her first day at Camp Half-Blood. He had also been there when she had gotten claimed by Athena, but she hadn’t seen him since. She had heard he’d been claimed by Aphrodite, and while he didn’t strike her as an Aphrodite kid, she felt glad one more demigod knew who their parent was. She had also heard he’d done something to Clove, stolen a knife or something. She was surprised he was still around; she knew how Clove got when she was angry.

Nevertheless, she should go say hi, see how he’s been doing. Besides, she wanted to thank him again for being so nice to her on the first day. She’d only been here a couple of weeks, but a lot had happened since then, and it was good to check up with old friends, if she could call Alex that.

Karen spoke then, asking if Sophie wanted to go someplace else, the punch bowl, to talk. Sophie didn’t really want to go back near weird guy, and she wanted to say hi to Alex. So she told Karen she wanted to do something else, but she made sure to politely thank her for the offer, and wish her a good night. She could see herself becoming friends with Karen, if they saw each other again. And Sophie was sure they would. How big could camp possibly be?

Sophie stood up, and made her way to Alex. Apparently, by his announcements, and where he was standing, he had been made DJ. Sophie wondered who’s idea that was. She had thought an Apollo kid might do it, since they were more musically proficient. But then again, she shouldn’t judge, like she had said earlier. She made her way around the crowded dance floor, and tried not to bump into anybody. This proved difficult, but she finally made it, to a point where she could actually see and talk to him.

He had actually worn a tie, if that was considered formal. Clove’s rules must have worked, and if they hadn’t, her sibling’s fists probably had. Alex seemed totally into being the DJ, and Sophie had to smile. He looked comfortable up there. “So, DJ AJ,” Sophie joked, to catch his attention. When she was sure he had at least heard her, she continued. “I see you’re in charge of the songs. Got anything interesting picked out?”

The Only and Only Dance. Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptyWed Jun 06, 2012 3:37 pm

Sep raised an eyebrow at the random girl. He'd been on the receiving end of being judged a lot, thank you very much. Random people on the street, Clay, the police... Septimus could handle more, in fact. Eventually, when he left camp, he would have to. Not that he planned to leave camp any time soon, unlike some certain people... He found that he liked camp, though sometimes the people in the camp could be annoying. Especially the unclaimed, with all their whining. Sep, was unclaimed, but did you see him moping around, thinking his parent was ignoring him, and wanted to meet them? No, he went about his abnormal life, doing semi-normal things. They could do the same.

He finished with his punch, then started spiking the punch, putting the pills into the bowl. Hopefully they would decompose soon, and there they were! Spiked punch, now to just walk away, and be nonchalant, making sure it didn't look like he didn't do it. This is what he did, and he walked over to two random girls, Clove, and the guy from the hill. He didn't look back at the punch, as a precaution, but instead surveyed the people in the group. A small girl, maybe eleven, in a purple dress, and kind of gothic gloves. Interesting, now onto the next girl. She was wearing a white dress, and was... well, beautiful. Still, he had an eye on another....

"Mind if I join you four?" Sep asked, not caring if they said no. This dance was boring, and he just wanted people to try the punch... and see this dance get much more interesting. Gods, what would Clove do? Hunt Sep down, and pummel him, probably. She could only do that if she found out it was him, however....

((I totally wish more people had posted but I am sorta forced to post in order to open the voting and such. This posted will be bad, probably but it needs doing. Voting is now open, PM your votes on King and Queen to me and I'll announce the winners on Sunday, this means you have untill midnight on Saturday to vote!! And not mine, that wouldn't be fair. I would like to ask you not to vote for your own char(s) for King and Queen but if you want to, you can. You can also vote for the NPC's if you want!))

Clove checked her watch. It was time to announce the nominees and open the voting. "I'll be right back." She told the people around. With a large sigh she made her way to the stage again. One of her siblings handed her an envelope with the names and the attempt to hold his laughter made her rather suspicious. She walked up the stage and grabbed the microphone, evelope in hand. She motioned to Alex to turn the volume down. "Ladies and gentleman, it is time to annouce the nominees for King and Queen. Ladies first." She said and opened the ladies envelope. She looked at the names and the list wasn't too long. Some were expected and some... plain ridiculous. "Jane Aldridge, Aphrodite. Karen Westbrook, unclaimed. Sophie Rainde, Athena. Lily Kiana, Aphrodite. Kendall Styles, Hermes. Poppy Johnson, Nemesis." Clove paused for a moment, seeing the last name on the list. "Clove, Ares. Well hell." She said, looking into the crowd. "You now know who to vote for so I wish you luck trying to find the right victim." Clove really did have a talent for cheering things up and making it sound positive. She opened the next envelope. "And now, for the boys." She said and quickly read the names, finding some of the names a little surprising. "Alexander Jones, Aphrodite. Jason Killroy, Ares. Thomas Kirtley, Eris. Peter Jackson, Morpheus. Andrew Kicklighter, Apollo. Richard Black, Hepheustus and Septimus Brown, unclaimed. Well isn't that nice." She said with a wicked smile at Septimus. "You can now go run along and vote. You have two hours before I'll return to announce the lucky winners." She finished and got off the stage again, giving her sibling a nice punch in the ribs. She walked back to the little group with a minor detour, grabbing a glass of punch along the way.

"Well, congratulations to all the nominees!" She said without any enthousiasm. She took a big gulp of her punch. "We're all sooo excited. I swear I'll pummel the life out of the person who put my name in." Clove said feverently. She wasn't too happy with her own nomination and felt others, such as Velvet, might have that exact same problem. Yet she was very happy that Septimus was on the list, it served him well.

((And once again, just to make it obviousm the list!

King:
*Septimus Brown
*Andrew Kicklighter
*Alexander Jones
*Thomas Kirtley
*Peter Jackson
*Jason Killroy
*Richard Black

Queen:
*Poppy Johnson
*Sophie Rainde
*Karen Westbrook
*Clove Tyler
*Kendall Styles
*Jane Aldridge
*Lily Kiana

PM me your votes and good luck choosing!))

Thomas went to the Eris cabin, and pulled out a change of clothes. He got a nice pair of black jeans, a black polo shirt, and some black socks. He also pulled out a pair of black converse tennis shoes that had skulls on the sides, and a black belt. Quickly, he stripped, took a shower, and got dressed in the aforementioned clothing. He slipped his paddle in his pocket, merely because it was an identifying accessory for him. Wherever he went, the paddle did too.

The boy went to the dance, and looked around, and then he heard his name being called for a do what now? He was nominated for dance king? That was just… then he heard Kendall’s name. That would work. He went to the punch bowl and got a glass of it. When he smelled the alcohol, however, he almost threw up. Spiked. Lovely. The boy quietly set the cup down, and looked for Kendall. Thomas checked his hair. Out of his face, that’s a relief. Sure his scar was showing, but he didn’t want to hide who he was anymore. He went to the DJ, and requested a song. “Hey, mind playing Black Veil Brides, the Mortician’s daughter?”

"Hi Andrew, are you liking the party a little?" his girlfriend asked as she pulled him closer to her. "Of course, I like what you did." he said, looking at her. He was about to put his arm around her when she said, "I guess I'm good. This entire thing is a lot more stressful than I thought it would be. I'm not really good at stage and I'm still trying to find the person who did that catcall so I can sharpen my knife on him. The discomfort is rather serious."

Clove then asked him if he wanted to dance, what they came for right? He was about to respond when he saw a boy spiking the punch then turning to them, and he knew who it was, Septimus. "No, not at all." he said to him when he asked if he could join, though he knew that if he had his sword, it would be in this guys chest.

Clove then left to announce the nominees, and he listened as she said, "Ladies and gentleman, it is time to annouce the nominees for King and Queen. Ladies first. Jane Aldridge, Aphrodite. Karen Westbrook, unclaimed. Sophie Rainde, Athena. Lily Kiana, Aphrodite. Kendall Styles, Hermes. Poppy Johnson, Nemesis." Clove paused for a moment, and Andrew knew who it was, "Clove, Ares. Well hell." He made a mental note to vote for her later even if she didn't want him to then listened as she called out, "And now, for the boys, Alexander Jones, Aphrodite. Jason Killroy, Ares. Thomas Kirtley, Eris. Peter Jackson, Morpheus. Andrew Kicklighter, Apollo. Richard Black, Hepheustus and Septimus Brown, unclaimed. Well isn't that nice." She said with a wicked smile at Septimus, Andrew didn't like that, her smiling at Sept, but he let it go. "You can now go run along and vote. You have two hours before I'll return to announce the lucky winners." He wasn't expecting his name on the list, but accepted it.

She then said she'll pummel those who put her name in it. As she stepped down off of the stage Andrew turned and smelled the punch, spiked alright, with alcohol. He watched as Clove took a cup and drank it, he yelled, "Clove wait! Septimus spiked it!" He was too late, all he had to hope for was that it wasn't enough to make her drunk. He only assumed that it wasn't and took her hand and pulled her away, making her drop the punch. "You aren't getting drunk tonight, let's dance," he said and started to slow dance with her.

Aphrodite, goddess of love beauty, and vanity

Aphrodite was looking down on camp half blood in utter joy. The dance was turning out to be rather wonderful, although she had been disappointed that her own children had been lazy and hadn't helped with organising. She actually couldn't believe they had left it to the Ares cabin, of all cabins. Ares was quite the wonderful God but nobody in his or her right mind should trust him around proper romance, which was what Aphrodite was after. Now there was a golden opportunity to add some drama to the slightly calm party. Aphrodite had created the perfect possible relationship between the two enemies and although she enjoyed seeing them struggle, Aphrodite wanted to give the poor unclaimed Septimus a chance, mostly because he hadn't realised his true feelings yet.

With a pop Aphrodite appeared on the middle of the dancefloor, cutting off the music with one swipe of her arm. She stood there, dressed like a Goddess and with a broad smile on her face.
"Hello everybody. What a lovely party you have here!" She said, not really expecting any responses at all. "I have come here to issue a quest and to compliment my lovely children on their nominations for King and Queen." Aphrodite said with a smile and winks at her children. Aphrodite turned to Septimus. "You there. I have a quest for you.

In your heart there is a trace
Which shall lead you to the place
Where the thing you want undone
It's fragile life had begun
Destroy the blessed dove
On behalf of one you love
Take with you the child of victory
With her alone, success shall be
For within her heated fire
Burns his personal desire."

Aphrodite finished with a smug expression and winked at the boy. "Good luck Septimus." She turned to Clove with a calculating expression. "And you darling, are no longer locked in this camp. I think you can figure out why on your own." Aphrodite said and turned her attention to the rest of the people again. "Well, I wish you all a very good night! Don't forget to have a proper party, I will not have anybody leave this hall before the King and Queen are announced! Well, apart from me." Aphrodite said and she disappeared with a giggle.

The Only and Only Dance. Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptyFri Jun 08, 2012 6:55 pm

As soon as Sep came up, Clove left. Yes, that wasn't offensive at all. Though it was to say who was nominated for kind and queen, of which Clove was. Wait... did he just hear...? No, it must have been wrong. Clove's evil grin told him it was true, he was nominated. Well, shit. That was just dandy. Instead of replying to Clove's grin, he just shrugged. She had more of a chance to win queen than he had to win king. Seriously, no one around here knew him, he only recognized three names on the two lists. Clove, himself, and Alex. The funny thing was, two of the three people wanted to kill him. Oh, joy.

Yes. Clove had taken a drink! Now, this would be fun. Septimus couldn't wait to see a drunken Clove! Of course, she was probably too young to drink. Well, she was. For a fact, because legally, Septimus wasn't allowed to drink. Clove was probably younger than him, so that probably wasn't very smart. Well, the fact there were twelve-year-old kids here, drinking punch wasn't so smart, either... Well, too late!

Well, no-name guy could suck it! Sure, he may have seen him spike the punch, but Clove had already drank some! He'd made sure that it was very.... very strong, too. One glass should be enough... Still, Sep knew Clove. Whenever someone told her to do something, she did the opposite. Meaning, Clove would keep drinking the punch, until she blacked out. How was she going to get back to her cabin? Oh well, she would find herself passed out on the floor tomorrow, then... Or Sep would carry her home. He'd carried her while she was knocked out before, he could do it again!

Still, he was going to mess with him for telling her. This would sure get his butt kicked tomorrow. Hm... they were dancing... why not make it so he couldn't dance? Heh. Sep finished his punch, and said, "I'm gonna go... look at something. Bye." He walked across the dance floor, and kicked the guy in the shin. Hard. That'll teach him to mess with Septimus. He then walked over to the punch table, and poured another cup. No one would believe the guy if Sep got drunk, too.

He had the cup halfway to his face, when some girl entered. She was obviously a goddess. The popping into the middle of the dance floor kind of gave it away. The music stopped, so she could make an announcement. Wait. A quest? Sep was glad he went to the dance now, just to see some little kid worried about their imminent death while out on a quest. Instead, Aphrodite turned to... Septimus? No... it couldn't be! Why would Septimus have to go on a quest? He blinked twice, though of course his eyes weren't visible.

"In your heart there is a trace
Which shall lead you to the place
Where the thing you want undone
It's fragile life had begun
Destroy the blessed dove
On behalf of one you love
Take with you the child of victory
With her alone, success shall be
For within her heated fire
Burns his personal desire."

Sep quickly memorized the prophecy, though he had no idea at all what it meant. His heart? What did he want undone? Fragile life? The dove was a sign of Aphrodite... he was supposed to destroy Aphrodite? She was giving him a quest asking him to kill her? She was a goddess, and couldn't be killed! The one he loves? He didn't love anyone! Who was the child of victory? Sep knew Nike was the goddess of victory, so... maybe he would have to check out the campers there? Her alone... so it was the girl. The girl on the hill, maybe? Her heated fire, and his personal desire. As far as Sep knew, he had no personal desire... did he? He tried to think of one... get Clove mad? Maybe. Still...

UN MOMENTO. Clove was locked at camp? By whom? Well, this explained why he hadn't seen her trying to leave recently... and now they couldn't leave? Oh, perfect. Simply perfect. "...Wha?"

Alex turned off "Hangover" By Taio Cruz and on came "Starships" By Nicki Minaj. Alex didn't like that song but it had been reccomended. Eh.. Who was he kidding? He actually did like the song. As he started jamming out to the song. A very attractive friend of his named Sophie who was a Daugher Of Athena had come up to him. “So, DJ AJ, I see you’re in charge of the songs. Got anything interesting picked out? Sophie had said. "I don't know... Maybe you can call me maybe?" Alex said laughing and kissing Sophie on the cheek. As in Spain it was customary to kiss a perseon on the cheek when greeting them.

As Alex kept spinning he stopped the music. "Now. An announcment by our lovley Ares Cabin Leader Clove Tyler!" Alex said. Then as Clove said the nominees and he heard his name Alex turned and said. "Ok! Whoever put my name it! No cool!" Alex said. Maybe that is what was going to happen at the prom that year. That somebody entered his name for Prom King.

Alex now knew what the thing was going to be after prom. Alex's mom showed up dramatically. As she congratulated her kids. Alex flipped her off. She knew that Alex probably didn't want to be entered. Then she had given a quest to Sep and so on. Alex looked at Sep. "...Wha?" Sep had said. "Means your going on a quest dawg." Alex said as he came down from the booth and put his hand on Seps shoulder. Alex gave him a forgiving look. "Knowing my mom... Well at least a little a bit... Well not even that... Well what I learned in school.. Well no I got an F in Greek Mythology.... Whatever. I'd like to accompany you on the quest." Alex laughed.

The Only and Only Dance. Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Only and Only Dance.   The Only and Only Dance. EmptyFri Jun 08, 2012 8:16 pm

Andrew was too late in warning her the punch had been spiked when she wasn't paying attention. But he told her not to drink it, big mistake. He dragged her onto the dance floor and they started dancing. "And where did you get the idea that I wouldn't get drunk because you say so?" Clove challenged, although more kind than usual. She was in a fairly good mood, all things considered. At that moment, however, Septimus rudely interrupted, kicking Andrew against the shin. "What was that?" Clove asked but Septimus has already moved on. Clove turned to her boyfriend to see how he was doing when a woman suddenly popped up out of nowhere. Aphrodite, yet again. Did the Goddess like interrupting her life? She guessed not because for once, she didn't seem to be in the spotlights of the Goddess. But Septimus was.

Clove watched full of slightly horrified interest as Septimus received a quest. She was quite interested by that part of information and listened to the quest carefully. Now Clove wasn't the brightest lighbulb in the bunch but it was very obvious that Septimus didn't have any clue what Aphrodite was taling about. Clove herself wouldn't have done any wild guesses at all if Aphrodite hadn't released her from camp. In one go she could guess what Aphrodite was aiming for, although she couldn't be sure. He had saved her life and forced her to stay at camp without giving a proper reason. She could be the person the prophecy was talking about and Aphrodite freed her so she could stop this mess. If Clove wasn't mistaking, Andrew's almost girlfriend was a daughter of Nike. Well, that wasn't going to happen. Clove was happy with Andrew and she wasn't going to let those two mess that up. "I might be mistaking but I think Aphrodite just gave him a quest to break us up." She whispered to Andrew.

Alex walked up and offered to join Septimus on his quest and Clove got rather stressed. Wouldn't Aphrodite favour her own child if he went with the quest? Clove gave Andrew a quick kiss. "I'll be right back, okay?" She said and walked off toward Septimus and Alex, who were near the punch. She saw Septimus drinking it and suspected that it wasn't spiked, she doubted Septimus would be dumb enough to fall in his own trap. She quickly poor herself a cup and took a sip. "Well, I guess I should wish you luck." She said angrily and punched him in the stomach. "But I won't. I want you to fail." Clove said and walked away, taking another big gulp of the punch. This stuff was delicious. When she got back to Andrew she was starting to feel a little bit dizzy but she ignored it. Probably stress or something. "I fixed it. Everything is going to be fine." She promised him.

"And where did you get the idea that I wouldn't get drunk because you say so?" Clove said to him while they were dancing. He still thought Septimus spiked it, but hey, he was dancing. Just then he came up and kicked him in the shin. Andrew just winced and ignored him and the pain in his ankle, he had gotten used to pain, being a demigod, he would deal with him later when he had his weapons. Aphrodite appeared then in a flash of pink, could she just leave him and Clove alone? He thought she came to break them up, but she just turned to Septimus and said,"You there. I have a quest for you.

In your heart there is a trace
Which shall lead you to the place
Where the thing you want undone
It's fragile life had begun
Destroy the blessed dove
On behalf of one you love
Take with you the child of victory
With her alone, success shall be
For within her heated fire
Burns his personal desire."

Andrew thought he could decipher the prophecy, being the child of the god of prophecies and all, in your heart there is a trace, well, that could mean almost anything, but being from the goddess of love, it had to be for love, he ignored the next line, not needing to decipher that. It's fragile life had begun, destroy the blessed dove, on behalf of one you love, his love must have been Clove, he had shown that he liked her from step 1.

Take with you the child of victory, with her alone, success shall be, that must have meant Arabella, the girl he was near in a relationship with before Clove, she was the only child of Nike, goddess of victory, that he knew. For within her heated fire, burns his personal desire was the last lines, that must have meant Arabella still loved him.

Septimus clearly had no idea what it meant, and Andrew wasn't going to say, she was trying to break up him and Clove, he didn't want that. Clove thought so too, whispering to him, "I might be mistaking but I think Aphrodite just gave him a quest to break us up." Andrew responded right away, "I agree, do we want to follow them secretly and try to stop them and make them fail?"

He liked the idea of following, for one, he would get to test his skill at fighting in the real world, secondly, he would fight alongside Clove, and third, he would be basically alone with her traveling across the nation.

Clove kissed Andrew and told him she'd be right back, he nodded and watch her go off, say something to Septimus, then punch him in the gut, that ought to have hurt. He watched as Septimus took a sip, he might have been trying to look innocent by drinking the spiked punch.

Andrew still believed it was spiked, but he would have to tell Clove. "I fixed it. Everything is going to be fine." She promised him as she came back. Andrew nodded, though she looked dizzy, "I still think it is spiked, but drink it if you want, just don't blame me in the morning, you can blame Septimus." He then took her hand again and started dancing with her again, he leaned in and kissed her then said smiling, "Just at least remember that if it is spiked."

Clove had gone to the stage to make an announcement. Sophie wasn’t too interested, she was sure it was going to be something about dressing up, or maybe about the beer Sophie had seen on her way past the punch table. Instead, Clove had announced the nominees for King and Queen. Sophie perked up when she heard her name. Someone had nominated her for Queen? They obviously didn’t know her very well. Sophie wasn’t interested in that. She liked books more than crowns, and she hoped people would remember that. However, she laughed when she heard Clove’s name on the list. That would prove interesting as the night progressed. She listened without interest to the guys. At least Sophie was able to put a name to the guy she had “talked” to earlier by the punch, Septimus. It didn’t matter much, but was still good to know.

Sophie kept looking around, and thought she saw Thomas, the guy who had been her tour guide. She hadn’t seen him in a while. She also saw Clove dancing with a guy. That was uneventful, until Septimus (see, she was learning already) came up and kicked him. Sophie stifled another laugh. Looks like Clove had two guys fighting over her. That would also be interesting. She focused back on Alex, the original reason she had come over.

After she asked her question, Alex gave an answer, laughing, and kissed Sophie on the cheek. It was totally friendly, but Sophie would be lying if she said her stomach didn’t flip over. To distract herself from this feeling, Sophie thought about his answer, until she got it. “Hey, I just met you,” Sophie joked back, hoping she got it right. Don’t want to seem like an ignorant child of Athena. Of course, she got distracted by the arrival of Aphrodite.

She could tell it was a goddess, by her dramatic entrance. The rest was easy. She winked at the Aphrodite children, after congratulating her children for getting nominated. Sophie could put two and two together. After spouting a very interesting prophecy for Septimus, Aphrodite disappeared, after telling them they couldn’t leave until the king and queen were announced. That made Sophie want to groan. That meant a few more hours at the dance. Not that she didn’t like it; it would just get long soon.

Sophie got distracted by the prophecy. Some lines were ringing in her head, and others were totally mysterious. Sophie didn’t know what it meant, but she did a genius-like analysis of what Aphrodite had said. In your heart there is a trace. This was obviously referring to love or something like that. Another thing caught her attention. Where the thing you want undone. This had been for Septimus, and Sophie had seen how mad he’d been at Clove and the other guy dancing. So love must be what he wanted undone. Take with you the child of victory. Another obvious line. Nike was the goddess of victory. Sophie wasn’t sure if there were any kids here, so she’d have to check. She wasn’t sure otherwise. The last two lines made no sense to Sophie, but she was out of the loop on this. She wasn’t sure if there was a way for her to know this, even with her smarts.

Sophie put it out of her head, and looked around to clear her thoughts. She saw Clove getting a bit tipsy on the floor, and raised an eyebrow. She didn’t seem like the kind of person who’d drink which confirmed Sophie’s suspicions that someone had spiked the bowl. For now, she’d stick with water. Clove and the guy on the dance floor were whispering and kissing, which made Sophie curious. What were they talking about? The prophecy, most likely. Sophie looked away, just to make sure she wasn’t going to see something she didn’t want to see.

She saw Alex talking to Septimus, and heard something about going on a quest with him. Great. Alex was in the loop. Was Sophie the only one who didn’t know what was going on between Clove and the two guys? She thought she had known Clove. Obviously not well enough. Sophie sighed, and looked around. Under these circumstances, she’d usually grab some punch, but she didn’t want to end up like Clove. She would also read, but she’d left her book back in the cabin, and she cursed herself under her breath. Alex was talking to Septimus, Clove was dancing, and Karen was, well, Sophie had lost track of her. She didn’t know what to do.

Well, she could always get something else to drink. Sighing again, Sophie headed back to the table, and poured herself some water, which she sipped at. Here I go again, Sophie thought to herself. It seemed her fate to always end up the loner at a party. Ah well. That was what it was like, being an Athena kid. Usually no one but you and your brain. Sophie shrugged that off, and kept sipping her water. Her eyes wandered around aimlessly, looking for something to do.

Arabella was late for the dance. To be honest, she really didn't care about it so naturally, she didn't care about being late. She didn't care about getting dressed up so she just wore some random clothes that she threw on. She was only going because one, she never missed dances or parties and two, she wanted to set some things straight wih Andrew. It turns out she got there right before the fun truly began.

She appeared in the amphitheater unnoticed. The music blared. Arabella would have enjoyed it if she was there to have fun but she wasn't. Then a woman appeared. It must have been Aphrodite. Oh, her! Arabella thought as she rolled her eyes. It was her who made he almost-boyfriend fall in love with crazy knife lady.

You there. I have a quest for you," she said to the boy she had seen in the hill. Well no shit, Arabella thought. She was about to say something when Aphrodite began to speak again.

In your heart there is a trace
Which shall lead you to the place
Where the thing you want undone
It's fragile life had begun
Destroy the blessed dove
On behalf of one you love
Take with you the child of victory
With her alone, success shall be
For within her heated fire
Burns his personal desire."

What? What did this quest have to do with her. Finally, Arabella put the pieces together. The boy probably liked Clove, the girl Andrew loved. So, Arabella still liked Andrew but she still wanted to hurt him for hurting her. Arabella was going to comfront the boy Aphrodite was talking to but first she needing to have a little chat with Andrew.

She finally found him of the dance floor with that crazy knife lady. YOU!" Arabella said before she punched Andrew in the face. Then, she kicked him in the place where the sun don't shine. The she turned to crazy knife lady. "Remember, I always win!" She stormed off to find the other boy going on the quest before Andrew or Clove could try to murder her.

She finally found him. She walked up to him and said, "Hey. I'm Arabella Adams, daughter of Nike. I'm that one person who you have to conquer the quest with." That introduction was obviously straight foward.

Alex looked at what had happened. At that moment Clove had come over telling Sep that she hoped he would fail. "Dayum.. That's not very nice considering... Well whatever." Alex said. Not wanting to talk anymore because he if he did then a murder crazy Clove would come after him. Alex looked around. Those kids were younger than him. Alex remembered how he was when he was fifteen or fourteen. Those where the days. Alex thought long and hard about the prohpecy.

Alex thought about it. He had been good with riddles when he had solved crimes for th NYPD. Alex startd to thing. "Destroy the blessed dove." He said to himself. Not realizing he said that outloud. Alex didn't think it was to destroy Aphrodite. But Aphrodite was the dove. Which symboled beatuy and... LOVE! Destroy someones Love! "For within her heated fire. Burns his personal desire." Either Alex's mom was stupid.. Or just stupid. It was obviously about two things. The Nike daughter was angry that Andrew was with Clove. Fire yeah. And Seps personal desire was to break Clove and Andrew apart.

Even with that meaning it. It wouldn't make sense. It'd still be a desire. It wouldn't be made reality just like that. Clove and Andrew wouldn't break like that. Unless....... Alex's mom was trying to get Sep and the Nike daughter together. Alex had to keep thinking open minded.
