It's time to die. Empty

Meatcleaver was gathering. Not new recruits, he didn't need those. Not supplies, they already had plenty of those. Not his friend or gangmembers, those would return on their own in due time. Not information, he already knew everything he needed to know. No, he was gathering their stuff for the journey they were about to make. Meatcleaver had made up his mind just that evening. He had felt something stirring, the type of thing that meant something had happened to one of his friends. These youths were so close they could feel it if something had gone wrong. He'd felt it a few times before and he was fairly sure the others had felt it too but they hadn't decided before. Now, Meatcleaver knew something had really upset one of his friends. He suspected it was Daggerdeath as the others were out and about their usual evening entertainments. Well, all except for Johnnyboy. He had asked the other boy to go on ahead, he was the best tracker and both knew the signs they left for each other.

When everything was packed into their backpacks, Meatcleaver started to clean the burned out tavern Brawler had picked for their home. No doubt another spark might catch soon and he was preparing for that splended fire. All the clothes and other things they would leave behind were on the pile, including several bloody shirts. The fabrics burned easy enough and would set the place on fire once again, burning their presence from it. Meatcleaver sighed and grabbed their weapons. Johnnyboy had his spear with him but Glamourr had left her bow behind. The quiver with arrows also lay in a corner, just waiting to be used. They had expected the monster attacks to stop when Daggerdeath left but they hadn't stopped, although there had been quite a few less. Perhaps her smell was still with them somehow. Meatcleaver had found out this special camp wasn't a place mortals could enter, which worried him but he figured they'd find a way in, or just linger near the borders.

As Meatcleaver picked up his own few weapons he noticed a small parcel. It had been there for a few months now, waiting. Meatcleaver always bought his members presents at their birthdays and Daggerdeath had left a few days before her birthday. He could have given it to her then but that just wouldn't have done. He opened the parcel and looked at the gift he'd found. It was a small bracelet with five charms on it. A mirror for Glamour, A dagger for Daggerdeath herself, a glass of beer for Brawler, a magnifying glass for Johnnyboy which was nothing more than a refence to his tracking skills and his great attention to details. To represent himself, Meatcleaver had chosen a small locket with two crossed swords. There was nothing in the locket but Daggerdeath would know exactly what it meant. He sighed and put the fragile thing in the parcel and in his pocket.

He looked up as he heard noises outside and jumped up, heaving himself onto the supporting wood that still held the roof up. Silent like a predator he made his way to the door and held his sword ready. If he didn't know them, they be dead before they would know it. The door creaked as it opened. Meatcleavers eyes were intent on every single movement and he was poised to strike. With every muscle tense, he waited silently and deadly for his prey to walk in. Perhaps it was friend, which only meant that he'd have somebody to great in a more friendly manner, but nobody was foolish enough to count on it. Trust ended lives and Meatcleaver had no intentions to die.

Brawler was out again, not with the rest of the gang, but just on her own for once. She just needed some time to think about what had happened that day. She remembered how lost she felt when Meatcleaver had come up to them and told them about this feeling he had been having, and how he thought Daggardeath was in trouble. The young girl had left the group quite a while ago but it didn't seem like anyone had gotten over her departure yet, that was one of the reasons that, when Meatcleaver had told them about his crazy idea to travel to the supposed "magic" camp that Daggardeath had gone to, no one really objected. Everyone in the gang was like family, so when there was even the slightest bit of proof that might suggest one of them was in trouble, they were willing to do anything to protect them. She shuffled her feet and sighed, even though she was willling to go on the journey to help her old friend, Brawler had her doubts about this so called camp they were travling to.

All Meatcleaver had told them was it was this special camp for demi-gods, otherwise known as the offspring of the gods and goddesses of Olympus, and that it was surrounded by these borders that apperently kept out mortals. That part worried her a little bit, none of them were these "demi-gods" like Daggardeath was supposed to be, just regular human beings, so how were they supposed to get in? It wasn't like someone could just deactivate this romoured borders, maybe the campers wouldn't even take very kindly to a group of rag-tag strangers that weren't demi-gods near their camp and tried to run them off. Brawler wasn't scared about that part though, offspring of a god or not, there was still four people in their gang that were highly experienced with fighting with an array of weapons. Glamour had her bow, Johnnyboy had his spear, Meatcleaver had his sword, and Brawler herself had her fists, and when those simply wouldn't suffice, she had her trusty axe, and that was better then any other weapon for her.

Brawler suddenly came to a dead-end of a brick wall, how could this have happened? She knew these streets up and down and if there was one thing she knew, it was to never get cornered, even if there was no one around. She whirled around and started running out, but had to stop abruptedly when suddenly, there was a guy, probably about ninteen in front of her. He cracked his knuckles and smirked at her, "Hey sweetheart, got any plans tonight?" She rolled her eyes, he was one of those guys. The type who was all cocky just because they thought they were hot, how they ever made it on the street, she never knew, but this guy wasn't a threat. She just looked at him and rolled her eyes again as she tried to push her way past him, but he put his hands up and pushed her backwards, "Where do you think you're going sweetheart?" she asked as he came forward even more, forcing her to put her back against the wall. He smirked at her as he put his hand on the wall above her shoulder, "Ya gonna answer my question now?" she looked at him and smiled, right as she pulled back her fist and punched him in the gut before knocking him to the ground and running away. The last sound she heard was the moans of him, craddling himself on the street.

She was still smiling about her fists still being intact and tough when she approached the old, rundown tavern she had found earlier for their camp for the time being. She guessed it would be their last camp site before they set out on the journey. Even though she had her doubts, she was willing to take the chance for Daggardeath's sake. If she really was in trouble, Brawler wasn't just going to sit back and watch, she was going to be in the action, fighting for her friend. She peeked through the door and noticed Meatcleaver kneelling over on the floor, holding in his hand an object that was all too familiar to her. It was the charm braclet he had gotten for all of them, there was a charm for each one of them. Brawler's was a glass of beer, for all of the bars she worked in growing up. The memories still haunted her, but she took out her frustration on all the gang's victims. She leaned in the doorway and knocked the back of her knuckles on the doorframe. Meatcleaver jumped up and grabbed his sword, making his way to the door in that quiet way he did. She sighed and walked out into the light. "It's okay, it's just me," she said once she was sure he knew it was her. Her face suddenly became serious as she brought up the next thing on her mind. She had to talk about it and it seemed Meatcleaver was the only one who could help, "We need to talk,"

Johnnyboy knelt on the ground near New York, dirt sifting through his hands. He really didn't want to be here right now; it was cold, getting dark, and he had no clue what had happened to Daggerdeath. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy tracking, he loved it. But when he was lost, or didn't know what to do, well, it didn't help his image of the smiling, dangerous person who always knew how to hurt someone. He'd rather be with the gang, in their newest hide-out, plotting their journey to this crazy camp Meatcleaver wanted to go to. He said it was for special people, but to Johnny, that sounded like crazy people, or his victims when he was done with them. Not someplace Daggerdeath would go, and certainly not somewhere he would go. But when Meatcleaver wanted something, you didn't argue, if you liked your face the way it was. He had sent Johnnyboy ahead to do his tracking magic, and had remained behind with the rest of the gang.

Johnny stood up, wiping his hands on his ripped jeans. It was very faint, but he could recognize the scent that monsters left behind when they died. They never died naturally, something had to have killed this monster. He just needed to follow the scent, and it would lead him where he needed to go. Johnny slung his spear around his back, picked up his bag of stuff, and walked along the hard packed dirt trail, paying close attention to that smell, which lingered in the air. He wasn't sure exactly where he was, just someplace outside New York, and judging by the smell of salt, near a body of water. Water was always a problem, it could wash away anything. He wasn't sure what he would do, but he'd figure something out. As long as another monster didn't attack him, he'd be able to concentrate, and he'd find this weird camp, and Daggerdeath.

After a little while more of walking, Johnny sat down near a clump of trees. It was too dark to see anything, and he couldn't track like this. But he also couldn't light a fire. That would be sending up a flare to anybody nearby, and while Johnny was sure he could handle anyone that came near, he wasn't in the mood. He breathed into his fingers, trying to warm them up. He had crossed the Long Island Sound a while ago, and it wasn't any warmer this side of the water. He froze when he heard noises, behind him. He needed to move, and figure out what those noises were. He stood up quickly, gathered his stuff, andclimbed a tree. He couldn't go very high, the tree wouldn't support his weight, but he could go high enough. He sat silently, and waited.

A few kids ran through, clad in battle armor. They were younger than him, and one carried a flag with a spear on it. This sight so perplexed Johnny, he didn't move. What was going on? Eventually, the kids ran off, holding their polished swords high. Johnny stayed frozen in his tree, however. He had no clue what had happened, or who those kids were. He didn't know what the flag was, or why they had swords. Crazy kids. That thought nearly made him fall out of his tree. Luckily, he had better sense than that. Meatcleaver went on and on about this special camp, was this it? How had Johnny gotten in? No, he probably hadn't. These kids, demigods, as the gang called them, had obviously wandered out of borders. Johnny had gotten lucky, finding them, but he got lucky a lot. This must be the camp Daggerdeath was in, which meant she could be right nearby. But he'd never be able to get in, and he wasn't sure she would see him if he stayed outside the borders. He'd have to go back and tell the gang where this camp was. They would travel together, and figure something out.

Johnny jumped down from the tree, stumbling a bit in his shock. He straightened, and put the pack on his back. Holding his spear in one hand, just in case, he started sprinting back the way he came, trying to find a car to steal, or maybe a bus to sneak on, one that he could take back to New York. He ran for what seemed like miles, but it could just be Johnny's warped imagination. No one ever called him normal. he kept running, and nearly collapsed when he reached a bus stop. He sank to the ground, breathing hard, still tightly clutching his spear. Now he needed to wait for the bus. Eventually, one came around. The doors opened, and Johnny entered. He glared menacingly at the bus driver, grasping his spear, and the bus driver shakily waved him in. Johnny sank into a seat, thankful he had brought his spear. He didn't have any money with him. After what seemed like forever, the familier roads of New York were all around him, lights gleaming. After getting off the bus with one last flourish of his spear, Johnny looked around for their latest hide-out. He started sprinting again, in what he hoped was the right direction. After a few minutes he came running out to where he saw Brawler and Meatcleaver, standing and talking. Johnny jolted to a halt, out of breath. But he had to get his message across. "I-I," he panted trying to catch his breath. "I found her," he managed to get out, before clutching his stomach, to nurse the cramps he was sure to get soon. Hopefully, they knew what he was talking about. There was no time to lose.

It's time to die. Empty
PostSubject: Re: It's time to die.   It's time to die. EmptyTue Jun 19, 2012 12:11 am

Glam was on her usual nightly entertainment. One of a few, that is. Usually she was out either pick pocketing, randomly walking, or messing with guys. Sometimes all three. This time, though, she happened to be messing with random guys on the street. Truly, what teenage female doesn't? Can you guess? Oh yeah, only the really nerdy ones who thought education was best! Yeah, Clove didn't believe that. Obviously. This led her here, on the streets, winking at random guys, and kicking them when they approached her. It was a delicate game, yet one of Glam's favorites. How could she not love it? It messed with guys, and was, well, funny. What was life without a little amusement, eh? Boring. Guys were mostly for entertainment, other than the guys that Glamour was with regularly: Johnnyboy and Meatcleaver. She'd gotten used to being near them, and now they were more friends.

Anyway, there she was, walking down the street. Then this really hot guy (Blue eyes, shaggy brown hair, and perfectly white teeth) comes up to her, and smiles down at her. Okay, she's pretty tall at five foot seven, but this guy was somewhere over six foot. She smiled up at him, bit her lower lip, and made a gesturing motion into an alleyway. She was pretty close to the burned building Brawler had chosen for their current home, so if she needed to run, she'd a place to go. That is, assuming this guy wasn't knocked out by the time she left the alley. She took him in to about the middle, holding his hand. Then she grabbed him by the shirt, and leaned in. He had this cocky smile on his face, obviously not anticipating Glam's next move. She punched him in the face, and he fell to the ground. She walked out, thinking it was too bad she didn't have her bow.

Bored, she walked out of the alley, just in time to see her twin run into the burned tavern, fastly and importantly. Glam wasn't sure what he'd been doing, but it must have been something worth telling the gang about. Otherwise, he would have walked in. Glam sprinted after him, and as she ran in, she saw Brawler and Meatcleaver standing there, talking, and Johnnyboy clutching his stomach. She had ran in fast enough that she'd caught the last two words. Found her. He'd found Daggerdeath? His tracking skills were amazing, Glam knew, but they were so good that he could track her down after all this time of her absence? He had found the camp? Glamour grinned, and looked at her three companions. She walked over to the corner where her bow and quiver of arrows lay, and slung the quiver over her back, keeping the bow in her hand.

"Well, what're we waiting for? Let's go get Daggerdeath," she said. It looked like Meatcleaver had everything packed, so why not leave now? It was only logical-- Glamour was sure they had all felt that odd feeling in their stomachs. It happened whenever one of them was in trouble, and Glam had been having it lately. She'd presumed it was Daggerdeath, because everyone in that room at that moment was fine to her knowledge. That meant it must have been Daggerdeath, wherever she was. Some camp for "special" people. To her, it sounded like people with mental illnesses, of which Daggerdeath had none. Besides, apparently it wasn't that kind of special anyway. Some place for demigods, whatever that was. Glam still wasn't sure how they would get into the camp, because no one here was a demigod. Right?

PostSubject: Re: It's time to die.   It's time to die. EmptyTue Jun 19, 2012 5:26 am

Meatcleaver, simply by nature, didn't calm down when he saw it was Brawler. It wasn't that he didn't trust the girl, he'd put his life in her hands without a doubt but danger was always around and it was just the two of them at that point. Yet his additude did change, he lost his slightly feral behaviour and dropped down from the ceiling, landing almost soundlessly on the wooden boards. He walked up to Brawler, his sword at the ready and looked out to the streets. Nothing, which was good. He turned his attention to the girl. "What do you need to talk about?" He asked, mildly curious about what was on Brawlers mind. His own mind, however, was with the people who were not in yet. He suspected Glamour had been delayed by one of the guys on the streets, she seemed to enjoy playing with them. It was something Meatcleaver failed to understand, but he didn't understand too many of the odd habits his friends had.

Meatcleaver wondered if Johnnyboy had found any trace of Daggerdeath yet. She had been gone for such a long time that her trail had probably gone cold yet Meatcleaver had complete trust that his friend would find her. If he couldn't, nobody could. As he waited for Brawler to speak her mind, he watched the street. He absentmindedly noticed the bus that stopped at the end of the street but he shot straight into action when a tall guy with a spear stepped out. It could mean but two things, it was Johnnyboy or somebody who looked an aweful lot like him and was intending to murder them. Any other person might have tried shoving Brawler behind them to be the hero and defend her but Meatcleaver knew she could hold her own without a weapon, a quite impressive feat. So he watched as the shape got closer untill he could see it was Johnnyboy. Relaxing a little more, despite the hurried behaviour of his friend, he waited for him to catch enough of his breath to speak.

When Johnnyboy said he'd found her Meatcleaver knew it could only be one single person, he'd found Daggerdeath. At that same moment Glamour came running, it was typical to Meatcleaver that the twins, although separted, still showed up at the same time somehow. Perhaps they had some strange internal clock telling them just when the other would arrive. She asked why not leave right now and Meatcleaver almost agreed. Almost. He knew the risks of making haste and so he turned to Johnnyboy. "What exactly did you see? Can we sneak close, do we need to be prepared to fight? Did you see Daggerdeath or any of the other campers? We need to know exactly what we will face when we get there. It's no need to run to Daggerdeath only to get killed on sight." He said with a stern look at Glamour. He took a deep breath and released in an equally big sigh.

He looked at the other three and his expression was vicious. "I want to see Daggerdeath just as much as you and retrieve her and I'll kill anybody for it but there is a chance there will be a fair number of dangers there. Most camps have some sort of security and so we need some sort of plan for when we get there. If the journey is long enough, we'll think it up along the way. Gather your packs." He commanded as he lung his own bag over his shoulder. "We are leaving." He said and with his sword ready he stepped out of the door of the tavern again, looking around for enemies. He motioned for the others to come as he set out toward the busstop. "Johnnyboy, you are to lead us to this camp."

Meatcleaver was very confident that Johnnyboy had found the strange place where Daggerdeath was. He had expected her to return to them but something kept her there, he was sure of it. Yet that wasn't the only thing that kept entering his mind, the little girl that had been haunting his dreams for a while now had something to do with Daggerdeath. He didn't know how but they were connected somehow, the girl, Daggerdeath and this camp. Yet he didn't understand how he fit in this picture. Was the girl destined to be part of the gang? If so, he hoped she'd do better than Curly, for his death still bothered them all. The anger that memory caused still want to make him chop some people into pieces. He was vicious and ready to go. He wouldn't stop at anything to save Daggerdeath or avenge her death. Perhaps he wasn't fully sane or a conciousless killer but one thing was sure, he was bloody and brutal but compassion for his gang alone. This camp would be interesting, if they decided to resist. He was sure he could take a fair number down before they brought him down. They didn't call him Meatcleaver for nothing, he had earned his nickname with every kill he made.

Brawler watched as Meatcleaver dropped down from the ceiling and walked over to her. Even though they had been friends since the gang found her in that bar however many yers ago, but that didn't mean they were close friends. Of course, she tried to be a friend to everyone that came and went in and out of the group, but it would be a lie if she said she hadn't sensed the caution that always flared in his eyes whenever they were alone. Maybe he trusted her, maybe he didn't, the important thing was that they trusted each other enough to protect each other and get along. She stepped out of the shadow that the door post was giving off and walked around to his side, everything was so silent she could hear her feet thumping on the ground as she walked. She opened her mouth to speak but only got half of her thought out, "It's about the-" because before she could finish she was interupted by heaving breathing of someone sprinting up to the door. She gave Meatcleaver a quick glance as she tightened her fists and waited to see who was going to dare challenge them. Brawler and Meatcleaver, the fists and the sword, it would be pretty hard to get past them, in fact, it might even be close to impossible depending on how many there were, but in this case, it was just one tall figure who looked very tired by the sound of its breathing.

She soon found out that it was Johnnyboy, another member of the gang. He was the tracker and the one that could tell them where would be a good area to find shelter near, but he was also the one that could handle the spear, throwing, stabbig, you name it, he could do it. He said he found her, did he mean...Clove? Brawler just stood there in awe, there was a lot of things going through her mind right now. One part of her was so happy that they had a chance to find their old friend who may be in danger at the moment, plus she was excited to take on a new challenge and go on this exciting journey, but the other part of her was pure doubts. What if all this trouble they were going to go through on this journey was for nothing? What if they had the wrong camp and Clove wasn't even there but these kids really were the children of gods and killed them, or what if this whole thing was a lie. What if this camp didn't even exised and there was no Clove there then either, or even worse, if it did exist but she didn't want to come back home with the gang. What if she wasn't in trouble, but enjoying herself with new friends and wanted to stay there. Or, if this camp did exist and Clove was there and wanted to come home, what would happen when they couldn't get through the borders? If Clove wasn't waiting there for them to come and ran out to them, they would be sunk. This whole journey was on a whim that there was this magical camp and Clove was there in danger, that was everything going through her mind that she wanted to voice to everyone in that room, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.

All her friends were so eager to go and rescue Clove, the girl they all, including herself, had loved so much and she had suddenly slipped away. She was eager to help too but, when all the odds were against them, it was hard to be happy about such an occasion. She looked up at the rest of the gang only to notice Gamour was in there too, she sighed as Meatcleaver started pestering with Johnnyboy with all these questions while he was still trying to catch his breath. Brawler glanced at them before walking over to the side of the room with the crack in the wall and pulled out the only other weapon she used besides her fists, an axe. It had been a recent catch that she had stolen off of one of their victims, it was a plan B for her if she couldn't face something with just her hands. She lightly ran her finger along the blade and then walked back over to where the rest of the gang was standing. She caught Meatcleaver saying for everyone to grab their packs and she sighed yet again, as she walked back over to the corner and bent over to the floor, grabbing her grey pack that had verious scratches and stains. Brawler walked back over to the group and looked at Johnnyboy, waiting for him to tell her wear to go or what to do. According to Meatcleaver, he was the one leading this journey, which was only fair since he was the only one who knew where the camp was.

She shifted her wieght onto her left hip as she swung the axe down by her feet, "So," she said, "Where do we start?" All the other thoughts were spinning around in her head again, but she just bit her lip and waited for Johnnyboy to reply. Darting her eyes around from one person to the other, she realized how anxious, excited and nervous everyone looked, she wondered if she looked the same. Of course she had her doubts about the quest, but she wasn't going to voice them and jepordize their quest, if Clove really was in danger and it ended up being her fault that they didn't get there in time to save her, she, and the rest of the gang, would never forgive her. She tilted her axe back and forth as she realized how short their time in this building was, sure, they would most likely burn it before they left, she wasn't so sure this time, everyone else seemed very eager to get going and leave, everyone except for Brawler. She tried to act just as excited as them but her thoughts of pure doubt would not leave her alone. She looked at the group one more time before dropping her gaze to the floor, hoping they couldn't see her true feelings in her eyes.

It's time to die. Empty
PostSubject: Re: It's time to die.   It's time to die. EmptyWed Jun 20, 2012 7:15 pm

Johnnyboy frowned at all the questions Meatcleaver and the others were asking him. He couldn't catch his breath, he was still doubled-over, and Meatcleaver expected him to jump up, answer everything, then lead them to this weird camp. Well, Johnny wasn't magical, so he'd just have to wait for him to catch his breath, then he'd tell everyone what he found. Right now, he was starting to regret his decision to leave immidiatly, he had no idea what to expect once they got there, he wasn't even sure this was the magical camp. He should have stayed longer, and scouted more. But he hadn't, and now he was here, and if he didn't speak soon, he was going to get his face pounded in by Meatcleaver. Of course, that was assuming he could get past Johnny's guard. But he was so tired, he was sure one of the runty kids he used to pick on could beat him up right now.

While Johnny had been doubled over, his sister had come in, just a few seconds after him. She seemed excited to get going, and Johnny was sure if Meatcleaver wasn't so doubtful, she would have left already. Johnny straightened, finally able to speak, and thought a second on how to answer the questions that had been thrown at him. "I was in a forest, and there were these kids there," Johnny started, feeling a bit silly on what he was going to say next. "They were dressed in battle armor, and had swords, and were carrying...um, a banner of some sort. I think we could take some of the kids, but they seemed well-trained with weapons. It would just be a matter of time until we got overwhelmed," Johnny reported, wondering what else to say. Meatcleaver had said Johnny was going to be leading everyone to the camp, and ordered everyone to get ready. Johnny wasn't even sure he could remember where this camp was. He had crossed the Long Island Sound, for sure, but he couldn't remember exactly where he went after that. There was a forest, and a country setting, but he was sure, he'd be able to find it, given time. But he wasn't sure how patient Meatcleaver would be.

Johnny picked up his pack and spear, like everyone else, and got ready to leave. "We need to get out of Manhatten, and cross the Long Island Sound," Johnny answered, to Brawler, who seemed the most doubtful to this whole escapade to rescue Daggerdeath. He started walking out, and paused at the doorway, trying to remember where he had gone. He really wished he had left markers, or at least caught the route of the bus he had ridden. He wanted to go back out and search for it, but he couldn't dawdle. Besides, the sight of 4 kids carrying packs and weapons was sure to be a spectacle. While Johnny didn't mind, it would call the attention of the police, and delay their journey. Johnny wasn't in the mood for distractions right now, he needed to concentrate. He continued looking around the city, painfully aware of the fact that Meatcleaver was going to get mad soon. He finally chose a direction, and started jogging towards what he hoped was the right tunnel out of New York. He would much rather make this journey in the day, which would be easier to see, and rememeber where he went, on top of it being warmer, but he knew now that wasn't a possiblity.

Johnny continued jogging, clutching his spear tightly. He could only hope the gang was following him, and would be able to run for a long time. It was a very long journey, one that had taken Johnny quite a few days walking, and a few hours by bus, and that had been by himself. He knew the gang could travel fast, but there would have to be a break sometime or another, and he just couldn't concentrate. What he had seen had confused him, and made him sure that Daggerdeath was in danger, or having extreme fun there. Maybe both. He didn't know what would happen when they got there, or whether they could get in. Maybe they would travel all that way, and Daggerdeath would decide she didn't want to come back. Johnny was sure Meatcleaver would get...well, Johnny didn't know. Daggerdeath was part of the gang, but at the same time, Meatcleaver didn't like getting rejected, by anyone, over anything. Johnny hoped she had gotten better with her knives if she decided she was going to stay. Assuming they'd find her anyway.

Johnny kept jogging, and hardly noticed that he was slowing down until he felt himself walking. He cursed under his breath, he was less sure of where to go. They had just made it out of New York, and Johnny had no idea where he had crossed the Sound. He had been away from the main road, on a dirt path, but there could be a hundred thousand of those. Johnny stopped, and just to cover his stopping, knelt down like he was searching the dirt for clues. That gave him an idea. Last time, he had caught the scent of a monster. There couldn't be too many monsters, so if he found the scent again, he would be alright. He sniffed, to see if he could catch anything. Nothing. He stood up, and headed away from the road, trying to locate something he recongnized. He was sure he would be alright as long as he could be useful. Then, he'd seen what would happen next.

Johnny kept heading away from the road, and tried to pretend it was just him again. The gang wasn't with him, it was just like it had been earlier tonight. He could almost believe it. But it had taken him several days to reach the Sound, he couldn't believe that Meatcleaver would expect him to find it again. Johnny stopped, maybe he could get the gang to help him. It had been several hours, and it was getting lighter. Johnny felt very tired, and had been doing all the work since they'd gotten started, tracking everything. "Does anybody smell monster?" he asked aloud, sniffing the ground again. He couldn't smell anything, but that might just be for sleep deprivition, his senses could be dulled. He looked around, and tried to figure out where to go next.

((Sorry for lateness and probable shortness and horribleness))

Glam wrinkled her nose up as Meatcleaver gave her a look. They could be prepared just in case, and they most likely wouldn't have been killed on sight. Sure, they'd been trained, but in a way, so had the gang. The four of them worked well together, even though they all knew one part of them was missing. Sometime in the upcoming week, though, they would have the fifth piece. Glam, hoped at least. Still, she wanted to make sure Daggerdeath was okay. Yes, she could take care of herself, but she was alone in a camp of fully trained, armed and dangerous, special kids. This worried Glam, because the five worked so much better as a team, as opposed to by themselves.

Besides, couldn't Meatcleaver tell that Johnnyboy was tired? He'd been gone for days-- tracking the whole time. Well, at least he probably was. Glam knew that Johnny wasn't the type to take a break during tracking, except for sleep. Heck, he was doubled over right now, which was a dead giveaway. Sure, Glam had wanted to leave, but she planned on giving him a small break to breathe! Maybe. Besides, if there was anything really important he would tell them. Which, in time, he did. A forest, armor, swords, and... a banner? They seemed well trained... well, not all of them could be. Glam's mind was mostly on the banner. What was it, magical? For all Glam knew, yes, it was.

Finally, they were leaving. Glam walked to where her pink pack was, and slung it over her shoulder. She was ready to go, as were the rest of them. She walked out right behind her twin, leaving Brawler behind. She stayed a few steps behind him the whole time, trusting Brawler was somewhere behind her, and Meatcleaver was wherever he needed to be. They could each take care of themselves, if need be.

Glam sort of wished it was day, because New York at night, even during the summer, was cold. She shivered, but still followed Johnny, trusting he knew where he was going. Even if he didn't, Glam had faith that he could find the camp again, even if it took three times as long as it did the first time he found it. It'd probably take double as long with all of them together, anyway. Reason: they would need more breaks. Oh, so many more breaks. They'd ran all the way out of the city, but soon after they were out, Johnny started walking. Glam did the same, but wondered why they were walking so soon. Johnny could most likely run longer, it was Glam who was nearly out of breath. She was now more behind than she wished to be, probably over 10 paces behind Johnny.

She stayed behind, as Johnny smelled the dirt, but only for a moment, then he went on. She was now breathing very hesvily, and was glad when Johnnyboy stopped again, this time asking a question. He was smelling the ground again, and Glam took a small sniff of the air. She couldn't really smell anything, but maybe the others did. Glam wasn't really the best at smelling things, she was better with her hand-eye coordination. So she just shrugged her shoulders, waiting to see what the others said.

It's time to die. Empty

Meatcleaver shot Brawler a look. "What is it about?" He asked with an intent look on his face. He didn't very much like it when secrets were kept from him, as those were usually the things that brought the largest danger of death. Not cops or rival gangs, secrets. They had to tell each other things, or at least tell him. He was leading them and so he simply had to know because one tiny fracture could break up everything they had worked very hard to build up. No, Meatcleaver wasn't a very nice guy but he didn't often see reason to be nice. He was blunt, crude and didn't think much bad of murder. Yet he didn't believe emotions helped to lead people on the streets, they would get your back stabbed twice as fast as rudeness. The gang was packing and he watched them for a moment, his own pack already on his back. They were born for the streets, raised to die but they would never give in without a fight. If people wanted them gone, they'd get a show and a big bang of an end. That much was sure.

Meatcleaver was glad when Johnnyboy answered his questions but he didn't like the answers much. "All right. What we'll do is go to this elusive camp. When we find it, we'll do some scooping around and try to find out as much as we can. Johnnyboy will write up some nice and cryptic notes when he has his breath back and Glamour will shoot them into the camp at various place. We'll adress them to Clove, as it's unlikely she's introduced herself as Daggerdeath. Brawler will try to find out as much as she can about the protection of this camp and I will see if there are some people around we can persuade to talk to us." Meatcleaver said grimly. "When we have the information we need, we get Daggerdeath and move back out." He said. He knew Daggerdeath, she'd never want to stay in any place where there were too many good people. Too many people asking questions and pretending to know things about her. Her lack of temper control from time to time was dangerous and Meatcleaver couldn't imagine how she managed to live without her daily dosis of violence, blood and her monthly dosis of murder.

Johnnyboy started running along, back to this elusive camp and Meatcleaver and the others follwed, although Brawler stayed behind a little. Meatcleaver slowed down and ran beside her, knowing Johnnyboy tracked best alone when he could focus. "Brawler, what did you need to talk about?" He asked. His voice was as gentle as it would get, which meant it was fairly mellow compared to his usual angry tones. He watched Johnnyboy and Glamour, who were ahead of them. Johnnyboy and Meatcleaver had a pretty good endurance. He hadn't often ran around with Brawler before but Glamour, she needed to work out more and that didn't mean chasing guys to beat them up. Meatcleaver rolled his eyes when he noticed she was starting to lose her breath but he said nothing. She'd learn better by feeling her lungs burn than by him making them slow down and give her a nice scolding. Pain was a very good teacher, which was why a practise session without anybody hurt was just a waste of time. Although he preffered fetching himself some targets for practise.

When Johnnyboy paused Meatcleaver walked up to him and stood by him. He could feel a strange sensation. "We are close. Well done." He said and looked around, trying to smell monster. Well, for those with a really good nose, it was around everywhere, constantly hanging in the air like a fume. Yet not fresh kills, it had been a while since a monster had been slain close to where they were. "But no monster smell." Meatcleaver said, although he could feel something creep up his spine. The little girl from his dreams shot back into his memory and for the first time, he suspected the little girl had something to do with this camp they were searching. He looked around confused as if she'd suddenly pop up in front of him. "Can any of you feel that? Like something old is close." He said thoughtfully. He looked around where they were. It was good enough around here and there was a patch of trees nearby. Meatcleaver nodded to himself. "We'll set up for the night there." He said, pointing his sword to the trees. It wasn't they they hadn't slept in the open before. They had long since accepted it was a part of their lives, no use starting complaints now.

Meatcleaver walked into the little patch of trees untill he found a clearing that would suffice. It offered a fair amount of cover from the rain and that was all Meatcleaver wanted, and it had the advantage of being out of sight so they wouldn't have trouble with people stumbling over them in the middle of the night. He didn't start a fire or even fetch wood. It didn't matter. When morning broke they would start their plan of getting Daggerdeath back. Should their plain fail, they would try other things. There were plenty of option, although some were risky and needed to be avoided. Getting an entire camp of possible trained people on their roof was not an option. He rummaged around in his bag for a bit and found glue and a truckload of tiny little glitters. It was part of their message system. A very sparkly and glittery arrow could only be fired by Glamour. Meatcleaver needed Glamour to prepare some arrows for the next day. He rummaged around a little more and found a case of dark red pushpins, each marked with CK. Brawler could use those to mark the trees around the boundaries so that they knew how far they could go. He also took out the red ink and paper for Johnnyboy. He himself had a sword and would go scouting. He wouldn't need any fancy props and the rest of the gang could have plenty of fun with the person he brought in. He was the strongest person, physically, so that made him best suited for the job, even though he'd try talking for a change. If all else failed there was one thing left. If all else failed Meatcleaver knew, it was time to die.
