Andreana stared at the massive expanse of trees in front of her. The forest seemed to never cease to end and she was too tired to find another route, to emotional. Her father had left her here with her suitcase and a heartfelt goodbye.

“Everything will be okay, it’ll all be explained. You’ll be safe.”

Andreana hugged her father tighter like a 5 year old not wanting to leave for school. She felt as in a daze, they had driven more than two hours from New Jersey to Long island, New York. What had happened at her cousins big blue and white barn house was all a blur. All of Andreana’s instincts were screaming not to let her father go.

Her father smiled warmly at the gesture and hugged her back.

“You’ll be fine. Now I have to get back and see what actually happened. This parting isn’t forever, stay the summer and I’ll come back afterwards to come pick you up.” Andreana nodded and hugged him tightly once more. Finally her father broke the hug and got back in the car leaving Andreana with tears threatening to pool over.

Blinking back the memory and the tears of confusion she inhaled and exhaled deeply and faced the woods in front of her.

~~~~~~~~
Andreana’s suitcase wasn’t the lightest it had ever been. With clothes to last a summer and other necessities it appeared as if the fabric could burst, the fact that Andreana had used the same suitcase for every trip didn’t help.
“Stupid leaves on the ground and twigs…” She muttered angrily seeing as she would have to stoop down every couple minutes or so to pick out the leaves and twigs she was complaining about. Andreana’s footsteps were loud and heavy then once the familiar sounds of wheels rolling stopped so did Andreana leaving her with a frowned expression. She got to one knee once more to get the wheels unstuck.
Andreana fiddled with the wheels a bit before just sitting down. She was tired, confused, annoyed. Her emotions seemed too exaggerated since she was tired. Plus the lack of sleep from her cousin’s help didn’t help. She already had light dark circles under her eyes. All of a sudden sleepiness washed over her Andreana’s movements almost became sluggish as she stood up again.
The suitcase moved again without much effort but Andreana’s walking had become sluggish. She paused for a moment before the sound of scuttling slowly woke her up.
“H-hello?” She asked, her voice wavering, looking around a bit eyes wide in worry and maybe a twinge of terror. Now that she was waking up her thoughts became clearer and full of questions.
‘Was it always this dark? How big is this forest? How long have I been here?’ She kept asking to the point where her own footsteps started to startle her. Andreana’s legs finally locked themselves in fear and yet again she could hear the scuttling of… many legs? “Hello?!” She shouted but then became dead silent. If something else was in these woods with her could should she stay quiet or make a lot of noise?
Sophie was in the Athena cabin, carefully drawing out a map of the woods. She had wrecked her last one, or rather, someone had wrecked it for her. She couldn't plan things out with a giant hole in the middle, so she had decided to make a new one. She was having fun, drawing the details out, and writing in names. Her ADHD wasn't acting up, so she had no problem sitting still right now. The problem was, she was forgetting some key details. Everything needed to be exactly to scale for this map to serve it's purpose, and Sophie wasn't sure whether everything was in the right place or not. This is what prompted her to decide she should go to the woods to write down some details, so she could draw her map with the best accuracy possible.
Sophie slowly got up, and put down the black pen she had been using. She went into the bathroom, and took a quick shower. After drying her hair, she got into her usual outfit-white t-shirt, jeans, sandals, and her owl necklace- and packed her bag with the half-finished map, some pens, and a notepad, to take notes. She was ready to go to the woods for a couple hours, and sit drawing. She knew them pretty well, and she'd have to walk around a lot to make sure everything was accurate. If it wasn't, all her strategies would be off, and that was the main thing the Athena cabin was credited for: good strategies.
Sophie shouldered her bag, and walked out, heading in the direction of the woods. She wanted to visit the creek first, and then orient herself from there. As she walked, she thought about different ways to deploy the campers, and which way would be most effective. There weren't many people around, they'd most likely be at lunch, or doing an activity of some sort. Sophie entered the woods, and began to pay more attention, so that she wouldn't get lost, or run into a monster. The woods was the one place where monsters were allowed to roam free, so you should never come unarmed. Sophie had her dagger, but she wasn't sure how useful it'd be against a monster. She'd have to rely on her brains to defeat one.
After Sophie found herself at the creek, she started heading towards Zeus' Fist, another landmark of the woods. Sophie walked along, careful not to break too many things. She wouldn't want to call attention to herself. She heard noises as she got farther in the woods, but she ignored them. As long as she stayed on the alert, she wouldn't have to pick many fights. Still, she found herself getting a bit nervous as the noises continued. Her hand creeped to her necklace, but before she could do anything, a voice called out.
Sophie froze. It sounded like a girl, but you could never be sure. Well, one thing was for certain. Sophie wouldn't be drawing her map anytime soon. Now was the time to get armed. Sophie pulled on her owl charm, and watched as it became a dagger. Now, with the dagger in hand, Sophie felt a bit more confident. Now to investigate the noise. As Sophie began to move in the direction where the voice came from, she heard it call again, then become silent. It sounded like a trap, but Sophie couldn't be sure.
She kept creeping along, until she was sure she was close to the voice. She waited to see if it would call again, so Sophie could track it, but there was only silence. Sophie walked some more, and finally saw what she was looking for. There was a girl, very young, maybe 13, with a suitcase. A new camper. Sophie wanted to groan, what was she doing in the woods? It wasn't safe. She got closer, but kept the dagger out. This was a darker part of the woods, and the monsters here were bigger, and more vicious. Sophie was going to have to collect this girl and go.
"What are you doing here?" Sophie asked in a hushed voice to the girl. She kept the dagger up, and glanced around. There was definitely a noise now, and Sophie didn't like it. "It's not safe here," she continued, lowering the dagger a bit. She didn't want to scare the girl. "I'm Sophie Rainde, daughter of Athena," she finished, eyes sweeping the clearing for any sign of anything. She should be looking at the girl, but she was focused on getting her to camp safely, with all her body parts attached. She looked back at the girl. "We'll talk later. I don't...Well, let's go," Sophie said. She had trailed off a bit in the middle, but she didn't want to tell the girl that there were monsters in the woods. If one attacked, there'd be a girl with a suitcase, and one with a dagger. Not a good idea. Sophie got closer to the girl, and motioned for her to come with her free hand.
PostSubject: Re: An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))    An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))  EmptyMon Jun 18, 2012 5:20 pm
Karen sat in her cabin in the middle of the day, contemplating on what to do in the few hours of freetime in the Eros cabin. She finally decided to go deer hunt with her arrows, she didn't know why, because there were probably no deer in the woods, but she hadn't hunted in a while, at least get some monsters.
So Karen got dressed in a ghillie suit and painted her face a woodland camo, she hadn't used a ghillie suit in forever, she let her hair down but pushed it back so it wasn't visible under the hood. She looked in the mirror and found it good enough for hunting then put on hiking boots. What would she find in the woods? She didn't know, but she would be prepared, so she grabbed her sword and concealed it beneath her ghillie suit and put the quiver of arrows on her back and grasped her camo hunting bow or the one her father gave her.
She then walked out the door into the warm day and headed towards the woods. Karen crept through the woods, not hearing anything and finally got into the deeper part of the woods, she then heard a noise behind her so she scrambled up a tree. When she looked down she saw a girl walk by, it was the Sophie girl, daughter of Athena. She watched with interest as the girl walked by and disappeared behind her. Karen looked off into the woods, seeing movement, but nothing happened.
All of a sudden, she heard a girl shout right below her, and she saw a girl she hadn't noticed before only a few feet from the tree, standing there with a suitcase. Then Sophie came out of the woods and introduced herself, with her dagger out, this girl must be new and has no idea what is going on, she thought, holding a dagger was not the way to go in introductions. After the girl replied Karen decided to come down and help Sophie out, a dagger and a suitcase wouldn't make it through the woods. So Karen jumped down and ignored the shock as her legs bent when she hit the ground from 17 ft. up. She then stood up to full height and pushed off her hood, revealing her face painted with camo.
"Hey Sophie, and sorry if I scared you, I was hunting, curious to see if there were deer out here, so far, no." Karen said, "And hello, I'm Karen Westbrook, daughter of Eros. We need to get-" She stopped midspeech because she heard movement in the bushes. "GET DOWN!" she shouted pushing the girl down and behind a rock. Just as quick Karen whipped out her bow and armed an arrow, she knew that it would have perfect aim, as she hadn't used it yet. She just hoped that Sophie understood her that there was a monster, she didn't want to scare the girl, though if she had no idea about the greek gods, she was scared enough with them claiming they were children of the gods, a monster would scare her even more, though when the monster came out, Karen had no idea what she would do. She aimed her bow at the area of movement, waiting for the monster to come out, unless it was another demigod.
”What are you doing here?" asked a girl walking up to Andreana. Andreana was so relieved to see someone and scared at her hushed tone and dagger in hand. "It's not safe here," she continued, lowering the dagger to show Andreana she was a friend. She remembered the words her father had told her 'You'll be safe.' she almost laughed. So much for that.
"I'm Sophie Rainde, daughter of Athena," she finished, eyes sweeping their surroundings. Wait, had Andreana heard her right? Daughter of Athena? Andreana loved Greek Mythology but she could comprehend what was happening. Was this some big Role-Playing game?
"We'll talk later. I don't...Well, let's go," Sophie trailed off and motioned her to come with her free hand.
"Wait- what was that you said about 'Daughter of Athena'? And what's going on...”Andreana asked in a whisper as well. Instead of getting a reply a girl jumped down from the tree in front of them. She was wearing a ton of camouflage with it even pained on her face.
"Hey Sophie, and sorry if I scared you, I was hunting, curious to see if there were deer out here, so far, no." The cameo girl apologized and said hi to Sophie. "And hello, I'm Karen Westbrook, daughter of Eros. We need to get-" Karen introduced herself and stopped to hear the rustling as well."GET DOWN!" She screamed at them and her down behind a rock. Karen pulled out a bow and armed it before Andreana could process what was going on.
“I’m sorry but, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!?” Andreana shouted and stood up, oblivious to was happening. “I Got here maybe 10 minutes ago and then a girl comes in with a knife and another in cameo gear and a bow and arrows, both claiming to be children of gods!” She shouted again in utter confusion trying to sort everything out herself. Andreana turned to where the arrow was pointed and noticed the bush rustling. ”What’s in there?” Andreana asked. So many more questions were floating around in her head but she decided to stay quiet. She was probably asking enough already.
PostSubject: Re: An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))    An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))  EmptyMon Jun 18, 2012 6:37 pm
Sophie groaned. This girl wasn't following her. Instead, she stood and asked what she meant by 'daughter of Athena'. Sophie really wanted to ignore her, pick her up, and leave, but before she could, someone dropped from the trees. Sophie almost stabbed her, but then she realized it was just Karen, someone she had meant recently. She said she had been hunting deer, hence the camoflauge, and introduced herself to the girl, who was still standing still. Karen sounded like she was going to continue, but she suddenly shouted for everyone to get down. Sophie didn't, however. If something was attacking, she wanted to be ready to fight it, with her dagger ready.
The girl was also standing, and freaking out. "I got here maybe 10 minutes ago and then a girl comes in with a knive and another in cameo gear and a bow and arrows, both claiming to be children of gods! What's in there?" the girl shouted, the last reference to the bush that was quivering. Sophie sighed, and lowered her dagger again. Where to begin?
"All right, you're a demigod, child of a human and a god. This is Camp Half-Blood, the only safe place for people like us. I really am the daughter of Athena, and a mortal man. Karen really is the daughter of Eros, and a mortal woman," Sophie began, trying to cram an explanation in 30 seconds so they could get out of here. "You need to stay here, and learn how to train and defend yourself. These are the woods, where monsters are allowed to roam freely. This is why I have my dagger, to defend myself. You were supposed to go to the Hill, but that's not important now. We need to get out of here now before..." Sophie's voice trailed off. The bushes were shakign violently, as if something was trying to break through. "Ok, time's up," Sophie said, raising her dagger again. She strode towards the girl again, and started pushing her towards the creek, and towards camp. If she could just get the girl to safety, Sophie could fight the monster easier, without someone extra to watch out for.
Sophie put the dagger away, so that she could have the use of both her hands. She grabbed the girl's overpacked suitcase with one hand, and started pushing the girl with the other, not bothering to be gentle. The time for gentle was when it was just them. Now, she had to get out of here alive, with or without bruises. Sophie trusted Karen to follow them, and get out of here. She knew what she was doing. They made it about 10 feet when the bushes exploded, leaves and twigs raining everywhere. Sophie whirled around, dropping the suitcase. Looks like the monster had arrived. If Sophie knew what it was, she could figure out how to beat it. But right now, it was hard to see anything, with everything flying around. How much bush could there possibly be? A lot, apparantly. Finally, when the air cleared, Sophie could see a looming shape. She took a step back, and reached for her dagger again. Yanking it from it's chain, she tried to make out the shape of the monster. A giant scorpion.
"σκατά," Sophie cursed in Ancient Greek. These things had almost impenetrable armor, and were hard to beat. Sophie would have to aim for the chinks in the armor, and hope she didn't lose her weapon. Her dagger suddenly looked very small against the scorpion. "Karen, take the girl and get out of here," Sophie said, trying to keep her voice as steady as possible. If she didn't startle the monster, she might be able to surprise it. She stayed stock still, as did the monster. Sophie slowly raised her dagger. She had no clue how to beat this, and if she was going to make it. "Karen, just go. I'll be...I'll be fine," Sophie said as calmly as possible. She didn't have to be a child of Athena to know that her chances of winning were very slim. Hopefully, if she died, the other two would make it to safety.
Karen let Sophie explain to her what was going on and heard her say she was the daugher of Eros and a mortal women, "Woah Sophie, Eros is a male god." She watched as the bush shook more violently and finally shattered, debri flying everywhere. Karen looked on in horror as a Giant Scorpion appeared out of the blue and threatened them. She knew that she had to find a chink in the armor, and an arrow wouldn't do the trick. So she put the bow back behind her back and drew her hidden sword.
Karen didn't have time to wonder why a new camper had arrived in the woods, she stood back up and stood next to Sophie, guarding the girl. "Karen, take the girl and get out of here, Karen, just go. I'll be...I'll be fine," Sophie said, not sounding all to confident. "No Sophie, either we do it together or I do it alone, my sword would be more effective, you guard the girl, I'll fight." Karen responded calmly, maybe a little too calm
She had faced things worse than this before, which she found strange, being the child of a minor god, you wouldn't expect huge monsters attacking her. Just then the beast lunged, stabbing the ground with its stinger not but an inch from Karen. She shrieked then dove to the right, her brown hair flying behind her, stabbing upward, her blade deflecting harmlessly off the scorpion. She would have yelled something like FUCK! or SHIT! but she didn't have time.
The scorpion was about to attack Sophie, where the girl was, so Karen had to distract it, so the loudest she could, she yelled, "HEY UGLY!!! LOOK OVER HERE! I'M THE JUICIEST!" She had no idea how stupid yelled I'm the juciest was or how much it sounded wrong, but it sure did get the things attention. It swung its head towards Karen and lunged at her with its stinger, this time grabbing her suit and hooking on, keeping her on the ground. Once the thing realized it didn't get her it tried to pull out but Karen's ghillie suit was stuck, so Karen went with it, losing her sword as she flew up and eventually lost the stinger's grip and she flew.
She landed on bare ground, where there was nothing to cushion the impact. Karen felt a snap and heard one, loud and clear in her left arm and severe pain went up her shoulder. She looked down and saw a sickening sight, her left arm was bent completely backwards and was black all over. Her vision was turning black and she wanted to puke, but adrenaline and the will to protect the demigods pushed her on and she stood back up and ran for her sword, and dove, grasping the sword and turned as the scorpion went in for the kill. Karen did the only thing she could, with her right arm, she thrust upward with all her might at the scorpions belly. Karen felt her sword impale itself in the belly, but she didn't know if she killed it or not. Her vision was near black and she wanted to puke so badly from the arm, she knew that at least she broke her arm in several places, dislocated it, and possibly tore some muscles, she knew that it would take a long time to recover from the injury if she made it out alive from this.
"All right, you're a demigod, child of a human and a god. This is Camp Half-Blood, the only safe place for people like us. I really am the daughter of Athena, and a mortal man. Karen really is the daughter of Eros, and a mortal woman," Sophie began, talking really fast but Andreana could understand every word. "You need to stay here, and learn how to train and defend yourself. These are the woods, where monsters are allowed to roam freely. This is why I have my dagger, to defend myself. You were supposed to go to the Hill, but that's not important now. We need to get out of here now before..." Sophie's voice trailed off. The noise from the bush could be heard again and Sophie changed her mind on what she was about to say. "Ok, time's up,"
Andreana stood there for a second in complete shock. Everything Sophie had just said sounded like nonsense but in the given situation she would probably believe anything. Plus everything she said sounded true, all the crazy stuff that had happened to her in the past would've made sense now if you put Greek gods into the equation.
Sophie grabbed Andreana's suit case and started shoving her with the other free hand. The pushing was rough but Andreana kinda understood the problem so she tried her best to get away as well. Barley 10 feet away the bush broke and a giant scorpion jumped out of the bushes.
"σκατά," Sophie cussed in Greek which Andreana broke a smile at some memories with that particular word while thinking she couldn't agree more.
"Karen, take the girl and get out of here, Karen, just go. I'll be...I'll be fine," Sophie said, not sounding all to confident. "No Sophie, either we do it together or I do it alone, my sword would be more effective, you guard the girl, I'll fight." Karen said trying to protect her friend.
'They don't even know me and they're still risking their lives...' Andreana thought solemnly. All of a sudden she felt helpless. She was the newbie lugging around an over-sized suitcase being annoying and getting in the way. She couldn't do anything.
The scorpion stopped Andreana from feeling even more sorry for herself as it came close.
"HEY UGLY!!! LOOK OVER HERE! I'M THE JUICIEST!" Karen said to lead it away from her and Sophie. Andreana stood there like a deer in the headlights watching Karen battle the beast, and it seemed as she wasn't doing so well. Andreana could hear the snap of her impact and cringed at the results. She felt terrible standing there but what could she do?
Thankfully Karen rose again jabbed a dagger into the monster's belly. She wasn't doing to goo but neither was the monster. It staggered over and basically landed on it's back revealing it's soft spot where Karen's dagger lay. The monster let out screech but was out of commission for the time being. Andreana's thoughts of helplessness returned to her. Not caring about the threat she ran over to Karen.
"It's okay, you're going to be fine." Andreana said with all the courage she could muster. She knew nothing about healing but words were powerful things and even if she wasn't the best with them now would be a good time to use them. Either that or medical assistance.
Andreana kept trying to soothe her knowing she would never be able to actually move her to safety. Her hope right now was that Sophie would finish the thing and they could all get out...
An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))  Empty
PostSubject: Re: An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))    An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))  EmptyTue Jun 19, 2012 3:48 pm
Sophie liked bravery in a person, but usually, with bravery, came stubborness. When she told Karen to get out, she told her no, and started fighting the beast. If they got out of this alive, Sophie was going to have a serious discussion later, with quite a few cuss words. Now was not the time to play heroics. But Karen had a point. She needed to get the young girl out of here, and come back and help Karen with the scorpion. She was keeping it busy for now, but she'd need help later, and Sophie was going to help, as soon as the girl got out of here.
Sophie ran over quickly to the girl, who was watching, and bent down to be level with her. "Get out of here," she whispered quickly, but then she heard something that made her whirl around. Karen was down, and it didn't look good. The girl apparently didn't hear Sophie, as she ran over to Karen, and started talking to her. Sophie wanted to start swearing again, she had just made Karen a pretty good target, even though the monster was out of action at the moment. This was a good time to kill it. Sophie wiped the sweat from her hands, and picked up her dagger. She ran forward, but before she could stab the monster, it roared, picked itself up, and charged forward, it's stinger rearing.
Sophie ducked, as the scorpion tried to sting her, but the tail caught her, and she went flying back. She hit a tree, and landed on the ground. Her back was stinging, but it wasn't too bad, most likely cuts and bruises. Her head was pounding, and felt like it was going to explode. Sophie put a hand to it, to try and figure out what the problem was. When she removed her hand, it was covered in blood. But Sophie couldn't focus on that, she needed to kill the monster.
Sophie tried to stand up, but her head started pounding again. She ignored it, and steadied herself on the bloody tree she had crashed into. A wave of nausea hit her, and she felt like she was going to throw up. She shook her head, to clear her thoughts, but regretted the decision. Blood was staining her hair, the tree, the ground, everywhere. If Sophie wasn't a demigod, she'd be sick. But she couldn't think about that, she needed to find the monster. She looked up, but she couldn't see right. Her vision was fractured, and she was seeing double. If her eyes were right, which she couldn't be sure, Karen was still on the ground, with the girl near her. The scorpion was focused on the blood, and seemed to be enjoying it. So, he wants blood. Well, that was good to know.
Sophie needed to kill it now, and get herself and Karen to the infirmary. She wasn't sure what was wrong with her, or what the effects would be. Hopefully, minimal damage had occured, and Sophie would be fine. Karen looked bad as well, but that looked healable. Sophie looked down, and saw her dagger on the ground. Well, she saw two daggers, but she knew where it was. She reached down, and nearly collapsed. She had to reach for a nearby tree for support. How was she going to kill the monster like this? Well, she had to try.
Sophie reached down again, and ignored the pain as she picked up her weapon. She gripped it firmly, and looked around for the scorpion. It seemed to have finished with her blood, and was focusing on Karen and the girl, the easier target. "Hey!" Sophie yelled out, as loud as she could. The scorpion turned toward her, and prepared it's stinger again. At least Sophie was prepared for that. It came at her again, and swiped at her, but Sophie collapsed to the ground, partly ducking, and partly from the pain. She really wanted to stay there and ignore everything, but she forced herself to roll, ignoring the searing feeling in her back, and the pounding in her head. She was now facing upward, and the scorpion's exposed belly was facing her.
The scorpion, probably sensing the danger it was in, scuttled around, trying to find Sophie. She would roll around underneath the monster, and stay under, at all costs. She was still gripping her dagger, and she thrust upward, right into the stomach. The creature roared again, but instead of charging, collapsed. Sophie wasn't too worried, though. She knew enough about monsters. It landed on her, and she had a burning feeling all over her body, but sure enough, the monster began to dissolve, until it was a tiny evil particles of dust. Everything was gone, except for the stinger of the scorpion, which was the trophy of the kill.
Sophie lay on the ground, not wanting to get up. Her back was still burning, and she was feeling light-headed from loss of blood. Her head felt like it was going to explode. She wanted to lie there forever, clutching her dagger in one hand, and the stinger in the other, when she remembered Karen. She forced herself up, slowly, and looked around. Karen and the girl were still where Sophie thought they were. She groaned, and stood up. She made her way over, clutching everything tightly. She needed to get to the infirmary, and she needed to take Karen with her. At the same time, she needed to get the girl to camp, and explain everything. Sophie opened her mouth, but her throat refused to let noise come through. She cleared her throat, and tried again.
"Take this," she said hoarsly, thrusting the stinger at the girl. She didn't want to ever see it again, even though it was techincally hers, since she was the one who made the kill. She would just put it in the attic, or give it to Karen, since she had wounded the monster. Or maybe the girl, as a momento of her first day at camp. She put her dagger away, her hand shaking so much, she had trouble connecting the dagger to the chain without stabbing herself. After she put it away, she kneeled down beside Karen, wondering what to say. "We need to go, before more come," she said softly. Her head was pounding, but she still had her brain telling her to get out. She grasped Karen's uninjured arm, and lifted her up a little, which was all Sophie could handle right now. She was weak, she could barely lift her dagger, much less Karen. She still managed to get Karen in a position where she was supporting her on Sophie's shoulder, which was good enough for her. She stood up shakily, and turned to the girl. "I can take Karen, but you'll have to take your suitcase," Sophie said, feeling like she was stating the obvious.
She turned in the direction of the creek. "Follow me," she said faintly, as she started limping towards camp, half carrying, half dragging Karen. She needed to get back to camp now, before she lost any more blood, and before Karen got into too critical of a condition to be carried. Sophie couldn't see the girl, since she still had bad vision, so she could only hope that she was following her.
An Unpleasant Arrival... ((Open))  Empty
The younger girl came over and tried to reassure Karen the obvious, that she would live. She groaned but sat up, and she knew she had to pop the bone back into place then worry about the brokenness. So Karen took her other hand and pushed on her left arm, and she felt the bone pop into place and she stifled a scream, it was extremely painful.
Karen watched as Sophie nearly suffered the same fate as her, but somehow seemed rather fine and stabbed the scorpion, and it burst into dust. She smiled and her breathing calmed down a bit. Sophie came over to her and said that they needed to get out of there, and Karen agreed. She stood up and grabbed her sword.
She let Sophie grab her and she leaned against her shoulder. Karen was half carried, half drug back through the woods, so finally she said, "I'll just walk, I'm not THAT weak." So she stopped leaning on Sophie and started walking on her own, and she flinched at a snap of a twig, but knew it was her stepping on it, she probably looked horrible and stupid.
She held her arm as they broke through the woods, "Well this is camp," she said, then pointing to the various places, "those are the Cabins, you'll be staying in #11 for now, the Big House is where we are going for the infirmary and your orientation, that is the mess hall, that is the climbing wall..." she continued until she pointed out everything in sight with her good arm.
She then continued to walk towards the Big House, where hopefully she would be healed fast, the Apollo kids could heal things super fast, almost 2x the speed it would heal on its own. Sophie could explain more to the girl later, after the orientation if she didn't understand some stuff. Karen stood at the steps to the porch and said, "I hope you're ready to meet Mr. D, Chiron is quite better though."
