Sophie was a bit overwhelmed. She'd come here from California, and the trip was not an easy one. She had to steal cars, jump on trains, and was chased by monsters the whole time. The definition of a hobo is a person who rides trains from town to town. That was basically Sophie.

She'd barely made it to camp, without dying first. Then, she had taken the "grand tour", which also tired her. Hey, she hadn't slept for over 2 days. The whole camp was amazing, and safe from monsters. Sophie had to check more than once to make sure she wasn't dreaming, or having hallucinations. She wouldn't be surprised, at this point.

Thomas, the guy giving her the tour, FINALLY let her go, and showed her the Hermes cabin. Sophie headed toward the door, then stopped. She still looked like a homeless kid, with ripped clothes and leaves everywhere. She combed her fingers through her hair, removing leaves. She could at least try and look like she hadn't come from the wild.

After deciding she couldn't look any less hobo-ish than she was now, and after promising herself a trip to the camp store later, Sophie took a deep breath, and walked in. Thankfully, nobody in the cabin turned to look at her, or notice her in any way. She silently thanked the gods for that. All the bunks were full, though, which made Sophie want to groan. Guess it was the floor for her.

She walked around, and finally came across an empty sleeping bag, pushed up near a wall. She was about to sit on it, when a thought struck her. Wasn't Hermes supposed to be a thieving god, and a prankster? Sophie looked the bag over, and checked the inside. It looked safe, for now. She sat on it, and leaned against the wall, and closed her eyes. She heard a rustling noise, and assumed the Hermes kids were trying to steal the bag or something. She was getting a bit paranoid, what with the sleep deprival and who Hermes was.

Her eyes snapped open, and she looked up. "This is my bag!" she snapped. Ok, maybe not as nice as she could be, but she wasn't feeling good. Then she realized the guy (it was a boy) was probably just walking by. She stood up, so she wouldn't feel vulnerable, but she stayed near the bag. "Sorry," she apologized. "I thought you were... Well, Hermes is the god of... Never mind," Sophie mumbled. She was making herself look stupid. She straightened. "Sorry for the rudeness, I'm new here," she said, her voice a little stronger. She decided she'd better introduce herself, in case the guy needed her name to report her or something. "I'm Sophie... And you are?"

Alex lay back in the bunk he had gotten a Hermes kid to give him. Since a Hermes kid had died there was a bunk open and the kid who slept in that bunk left to another bunk and Alex too it. He had been getting lot's of threats but none of them scared him. Alex lie back with a silk light blue stripped dress shirt, jeans, and Nikes. He wore a LA Lakers Hat and had it down so he would be able to relax. All the noise everyone was making, the Hermes Cabin was never a peaceful place. Alex intimidated half of the kids there. And they barley bothered him.

As Alex slept he dreamt about the life he lived outside Camp. Being rich, staying in Seven star hotels, going on Private Jets, anything he wanted on demand. Alex had never taken any of that for granted. His dad hadn't either and had given his money to charity alot. His brother was a bit spoiled. Alex woke up to someone coming into the Hermes cabin.

The girl looked like a wreck, ripped clothes, dirty, and looked tired. Alex felt bad for her, he had gotten to camp without any problems. As Alex used his deduction skills he could tell she had lived the life of a hobo coming there. Alex took some chocolate and ambrosia he had. And some water. He walked past there and then heard the girl snap "This is my bag!" Alex backed off a bit. "I wasn't gonna steal it if thats what you think." Alex said. "Sorry, I thought you were... Well, Hermes is the god of... Never mind," Alex smiled the girl when she said that. "Don't worry.. I'm not a kid of Hermes.. Atleast I don't think so..." Alex thought for a moment but shrugged it off. "Sorry for the rudeness, I'm new here," The girl had said. "No Problem. It's fine." Alex said understanding where she was coming from. "I'm Sophie... And you are?" The girl had said. "I'm Alex.. Hey listen if you want you can sleep for a bit in my bunk.. You look terrible but I don't mean that in mean way... Here is some food I had and some water." Alex said handing her the Ambrosia and Chocolate and Water.

The guy backed off when Sophie snapped at him. That, of course, made her feel guilty. She didn't want to appear like a snobby girl who thinks she's better than everyone. Thankfully, the guy took it alright, and responded nicely. As he was talking, Sophie looked him over, just to see what she was dealing with.

He seemed a couple years older than her, maybe 16 or 17. He had black hair, and brown eyes. He was dressed nicely, and at the moment, looked like the complete opposite of Sophie. He was probably unclaimed, since he wasn't sure if Hermes was his dad. Even so, Sophie felt relieved. She wasn't a complete weirdo. There were other people who didn't know about their parents.

Sophie tuned into the conversation as the boy finished speaking. "I'm Alex.. Hey listen if you want you can sleep for a bit in my bunk.. You look terrible but I don't mean that in a mean way... Here is some food I had and some water," he finished. Sophie turned a bit red. She probably did look like she'd spent the last few months living outside, so this was just confirming what she already knew.

Sophie took the food gratefully. She hadn't had some real food for who knows how long. She recongnized the chocolate and water, but she wasn't sure what the other thing was. She felt a bit like a cavewoman, both in looks and knowledge. But before she would eat, Sophie decided to answer the guy-Alex, first. "Thanks for the food. Um, what's this?" Sophie said, holding up the unknown food. She turned even more red for asking what seemed to be an obvious question with an obvious answer. Without waiting for an answer, she continued. "I'm fine, but thanks. I can stay awake a while longer," Sophie said. She was tired, but the prospect of food had wiped all ideas of sleep from her mind, at least for now.

"But thanks. I'll be fine with the sleeping bag," Sophie continued, kicking the bag with her foot. This guy was being extremely nice to her. She didn't want to steal his bed, even for a while. So she focused on the water and chocolate. She started nibbling it. She was sure if she ate it too fast, she was gonna throw up later. That wouldn't sit well with her new cabin mates. Even so, she finished the food quickly. But her stomach had shrunk, so she wasn't hungry anymore. Food down, sleep and hygiene to go, she thought in her head.

She focused back on Alex. She was aware she should go clean up, but she didn't want to just leave. That would seem rude, at the least. "Thanks again for the food," she told him. She still had the other thing in her hand, and she held it up again, to look at it. She sniffed it, and it smelled pretty good. Deciding it probably wasn't poisonous, she nibbled a bit of it, and her eyes widened. It tasted like the honey cake the orphanage would serve on birthdays. It was Sophie's favorite food. She took a slightly bigger bite, and began to feel less tired. Some cuts she had on her arms and legs began to feel better, and when Sophie looked, had disappeared entirely. Sophie looked at Alex. "What is this?" she asked again, a bit of awe in her voice. She seriously needed to get some of this, whatever it was.

Athena, goddess of wisdom

Athena was really late on this claiming. He daughter was fifteen almost sixteen. She had just appeared on Half-Blood Hill. Now where was her daughter? Athena turned herself into a fifteen year old girl. She was already thinking up of a good way to claim her daughter. She had already had a claiming gift picked out and a plan ready. Athena always had a plan. She walked into the Hermes cabin and studied her daughter's every move. Finally she approached her. "Hello, my dear." she said as she morphed into a middle aged woman. She wore battle armor. Her daughter had to know who she wsa by now. She turned to thee boy her daughter was talking to. "You must know who I am. I'm Sophie's mother, Athena." she turned back to her daughter. "You won't need that sleeping bag anymore." she said. "I'll expect that you'll be moving tonight. But beofre I go..." Athena held out her hand and an owl necklace appeared in her hand. "If you tugg on the owl, it will tun into a dagger. And also here's a book." Athena handed Sophie a book about Greek myths. "You probably already know all the myths but here, I hope you enjoy everything. I must go now." Athena snapped her fingers and disappeared.

((Congrats to Sophie! the new daughter of Athena!))

Sophie was waiting for an answer on the mystery item when a 15 year old girl walked up. Sophie wasn't sure if this was another kid trying to either steal her bag or help, but she didn't have to wait long for the answer. The girl morphed into a middle-aged woman with battle armor on. Sophie had to stop herself from gasping. She wasn't quite sure what was going on, but that didn't happen everyday. Well, most of the stuff demigods did didn't happene everyday, but this didn't seem normal, even by those standards.

The woman introdcued herself as Athena, and as Sophie's mom. Well, that was unexpected. Athena was her mom? The goddess of wisdom? Sophie just stood there as Athena continued talking. She said something about not needing the bag, and moving tonight...Probably to the Athena cabin, which Sophie had seen on her way in. Cabin 6, Sophie vaguely thought. As she tuned back into the conversation, Athena had an owl necklace in her hand. She was explaining it's powers, turning the charm into a dagger. Very cool. Athena also handed Sophie a book, on Greek myths. Sophie knew them all already, but it'd be nice to be able to read them whenever she wanted. With that, Athena disappeared.

Sophie stood there, clutching the book and necklace. She wasn't really sure what to do next. Should she leave? Sit down? Sophie tucked the book under her arm, and put the necklace in her pocket. Her first day here, and she was already moving somewhere else. Well, at least she'd get a bunk. But that would also limit her choices on friends. Sophie wasn't sure how many other children of Athena there were, if any. Still, she could visit the Hermes cabin often. It wasn't like there was a barrier stopping her from entering.

With that, Sophie focused back on Alex. He hadn't said anything, or done anything, really. Sophie wasn't sure what to say, so she settled for some of her earlier thoughts. "Well...that was unexpected," she said vaguely. She probably should feel excited, or nervous, or happy, but in reality, Sophie didn't really feel anything. It would probably settle in later, and that would probably start either a freaking out fit, or a one person party. But what was the difference really? Not having anything else to say, Sophie stood there, hoping Alex would say something to break what was becoming an awkward silence.
