Andrew was sitting alone in the Hermes cabin with nothing to do, I can go test out swords. he thought, he needed to take his mind off of things, he had been at camp for 6 months and he still had no idea who his father was, it would come eventually, though the gods weren't paying attention to Percy's promise with him. He knew he had to give them time though, he figured whoever his father was was busy. He got dressed in an Oklahoma City Thunder jersey he had and athletic shorts and headed out of the door.

He turned towards the arena with his sword at his side like always. He started jogging, he needed his excercise. Andrew slowed down as he approached the arena and entered and unsheathed his sword. He proceeded to charge the dummies and doing a different set of moves for a few dummies, he chopped their heads off, the last one landing at his feet. He turned around and went to a water cooler and got some water. He then sat on a bench and watched others, studying their tactics, knowing he could learn from them. Andrew barely noticed when another demigod sat down next to him, but he noticed enough to introduce himself, saying, "Andrew Kicklighter, unclaimed, from Hutchinson, Kansas." He tried to simplify it as much as possible, as he was paying to much attention to the others, then turned to face them.

So far, Arabella liked camp. It wasn't as good as her adoptive parents' house when they were still alive, but it was good. She was a new camper so naturally, she didn't know anybody. She was happy when she found out there was a volleyball court. The only thing to make the camp perfect was a basketball field. Camp seemed fun but a lot of the time, Arabella was bored and this was one of those moments. What places did she want to go…maybe the armory and arena. She didn't have a weapon yet. Every demigod needed a weapon. Well, unless you want to be murdered by monster.

Arabella walked into the armory and arena with her arms crossed. She didn't expect to see anyone there so she flinched when she saw a boy around her age. Maybe he could help her pick out a weapon. She sat next to him hoping he wouldn't hate her right off the bat. "Andrew Kicklighter, unclaimed, from Hutchinson, Kansas." he said.

"Well hello there, Andrew Kicklighter." Arabella said. "I'm Arabella Adams, unclaimed, from Chicago, Illinois. But you can call me Bella." Arabella hated her real name. It was just so…weird.

Still sitting next to Andrew, she looked around the armory and arena. Where did the other demigods before her get their weapons? Then she saw a tool shed. They're probably in there… Bella thought. But first she needed to know what weapons were good.

"So…what weapons do you recomend?" Arabella said dropping her gaze away from the shed.

"Well hello there, Andrew Kicklighter." she said. "I'm Arabella Adams, unclaimed, from Chicago, Illinois. But you can call me Bella." Andrew thought that was a strange name, but just decided to let the fact go. "Chicago eh? I have heard it is windy up there," he said. He took another sip of water then looked back at Arabella when she asked, "what weapons do you recommend." Andrew took out his sword, "I prefer the sword, but it depends on your style of fighting, everyone has a different one, I have a short range one. So, how new are you to camp? I have been here for about 6 months, it seems the gods haven't listened to that Percy Jackson's promise for me, but I can deal with waiting."

Andrew then threw away his cup and stood up and faced her, offering his hand to help her up as a friend. He then proceeded to say, "I'll show you some moves with the sword." He then explained the disarment maneuver and the traditional blocks, cuts, and swipes. Even though he was new he was aid to be one of the best sword fighters in camp, once he was done, he grabbed another cup and drank it and let her show him what she could do. "You can use one of the swords over there." he said, pointing to a table with weapons to test out, his was balanced, but hers may not, and she might not have even been a sword fighter.

Andrew stood back and examined her performance and fixed her. He tried to help her, but not be too brutal, and if she wasn't meant for sword fighting, he would let her attempt archery, something he couldn't really do. He might watch, but he wouldn't teach, that would be too embarrassing. He wasn't as bad as others, but he still sucked ass at it, no matter what he tried, he was a hell of a lot better with swords. He also like being able to see the whites of the eyes of whoever he was fighting, so he could try to judge their emotions and what they would do next.

"Chicago eh? I have heard it is windy up there," Andrew said. Bella gritted her teeth. So what if she liked to brag a bit. How did he know she bragged? But forced herself to smile. "Yeah, I get that a lot…" she said. She glanced at the shed again. "I prefer the sword, but it depends on your style of fighting, everyone has a different one, I have a short range one. So, how new are you to camp? I have been here for about 6 months, it seems the gods haven't listened to that Percy Jackson's promise for me, but I can deal with waiting." She assumed she would hear, 'I'm not going to et claimed ever' a lot.

"I'm pretty new. I haven't been her for more than a few weeks." She answered. Andrew helped her up and showed her some moves. They were pretty good from what Arabella could see. Then, Andrew told her to get a weapon from the table.

She walked over to the table and quickly grabbed any random sword. It was a long sword that was a bit heavy. She wasn't too keen on this whole fighting thing, but whatever.

She walked over to the straw dummy and slashed it neck with force. Then, it's he stabbed it in the stomach. Finally, she hit the dummy's legs with her sword as if she were swinging a baseball bat.

"So…how did I do?" she asked Andrew. She had a strong feeling that she wouldn't be good with any weapons at all. "Should I just get a new weapon entirely?" she asked.

((Wow, this is crap. I have no muse))

"I'm pretty new. I haven't been her for more than a few weeks." she said. "Don't worry, you'll get used to it." Andrew responded. He then watched her swing the sword like a baseball bat, he couldn't help but try not to laugh. "So…how did I do? Should I get a new weapon entirely?" Andrew was trying to figure out if he should tell the truth or not, but he eventually came upon a verdict, yes. "Well, you could do better in a shit load of stuff, like not swinging it like a baseball bat and holding it like this." Andrew said, showing her how his hands were positioned and how to swing the sword. "You don't need a new weapon if you want to use a sword, if you don't think you like it, of course, get a new weapon, but if you set your mind to it, you can be great at sword fighting."

Andrew then showed her a few more basic moves, swinging his sword in several different fashions, but all of them flowed smoothly. "You can try those if you want, though if you want to try archery, I won't be able to teach you that, I absolutely suck and archery." He stood back and examined her again, drinking even more water, he wasn't sure to laugh or not. He then waited for her to finish and wait for her to speak up.

"You don't need a new weapon if you want to use a sword, if you don't think you like it, of course, get a new weapon, but if you set your mind to it, you can be great at sword fighting." Andrew said. Good! Inspirational words of wisdom! Arabella thought. He showed her some more basic moves. I'm such a failure… Arabella thought hopelessly. "You can try those if you want, though if you want to try archery, I won't be able to teach you that, I absolutely suck and archery." Andrew said.

"Don't worry. I probably suck more than you do." Arabella said. She went over to the table with all the weapons and and selected bow and a quiver. "Let's see if I can figure this out…" Arabella mumbled examining the bow.

She loaded the bow with and arrow and aimed for a straw dummy. She pulled the arrow back and let go. It turned out that she wasn't pointing it straight in front of her so the arrow landed two feet in front of her and then skidded a few feet.

"I think we should find a proper teacher…" Bella said.

~Apollo, God of Prophecy, Healing, Medicine, Poetry, Music, and the Sun~

Apollo was driving the Sun Chariot, as usual, and, of course, loved it. He had no need to watch where he was going, the chariot nearly drove itself! He had some rock music playing over the radio; Halestorm’s hit single Love Bites. The god had a big grin on his face, turning it up, when he noticed a boy at the camp. Hey, wasn’t that his kid Andrew? Ha! This he had to check out!Apollo drove the chariot down to the camp, entering the Arena as they were talking about Archery.

“Well, kiddo, you don’t need to worry about that, being my son, Andrew. However, this gift is more of a musician’s tastes than an archer’s” The god of the sky held his hands out, and a bass guitar appeared in them. “Take care of this bass kid; it heals people when you play it. Granted, it won’t do it that fast, and you can’t regrow severed limbs, but other than that, it’s pretty nifty to have!” The god tossed the bass to his son, giving him a cocky grin. “Watch out for my sister, she tends to get a little bit touchy around the male gender. And be good!” Climbing into his Maserati, Apollo drove off into the sky, lighting up more than just his son’s day.

((Congratulations to Andrew Kicklighter, Son of Apollo!))

((I guess I'll post next, since I just got claimed))

Andrew watched as Arabella shot the arrow, "Well, I'm not much of a sh..." He was cut off as it got really bright and hot. He turned to see a really sweet car land not but 20 feet from him, wait! he thought, land? I don't think cars can fly... His questions were soon answered though as a blonde dude stepped out of the car, Andrew noticed how much they looked a like, and somehow he knew this was Apollo. Am I getting claimed? “Well, kiddo, you don’t need to worry about that, being my son, Andrew. However, this gift is more of a musician’s tastes than an archer’s” the god said, he thought he even sounded a bit like him, he was just claimed! He was the son of Apollo. He just hoped that he didn't have poor poem making skills like he had heard Apollo had. The god held out his hands and a bass guitar appeared in his hands, the god of archery and healing is giving me a bass guitar? Couldn't he give me some nifty bow? At least it's something.

“Take care of this bass kid; it heals people when you play it. Granted, it won’t do it that fast, and you can’t regrow severed limbs, but other than that, it’s pretty nifty to have!” Apollo said, so it did have a purpose, and it was a pretty neat one at that, besides the fact that it would be hard to carry around with him and that it couldn't heal immediately. “Watch out for my sister, she tends to get a little bit touchy around the male gender. And be good!” With that, his father left him, he knew his sister was Artemis, and he guessed she hated boys for some reason, she seemed extremely sexist just at the thought of it. Andrew, put the guitar on the ground and said, "Let me test this archery skills." He went over to the table and grabbed a bow and arrows and came back to the line, aimed, and fired, a perfect shot, bulls-eye. He had never done that before, much less have perfect form like he just did. It was something he probably couldn't teach though, so that was that, he was a perfect archer now and one of the best swordsmen in camp, he guessed it wasn't bad at all to be amazing in both, more weapons and ranges to fight with. "I am the son of Apollo... So, we look around for a teacher for you, since I apparently am a natural at archery now, but I have no idea how I do it, just that I am the son of Apollo and it must come naturally, or how to teach it." he said to Arabella.

Wait, what? Andrew was claimed? The claiming was quick. At least she had a teacher now. Since he was the son of Apollo he had to know how to teach archery. A bass guitar as a claiming gift? Interesting… She jus wanted to get back to archery practice. Cool, Andrew was claimed, but when was she going to get claimed? That was besides the point. She was ruining Andrew's moment.

Apollo said something about his twin. Wasn't it Artemis? Whatever he name was Arabella knew she was the leader of the hunt. She didn't necessarily want to join because they were extremely sexist twords men and they had to sware of dating for life.

Good thing Andrew shot a perfect bulls-eye or she would have started talking accessibly about random things. That was always an automatic turn off when Arabella met people. "I am the son of Apollo... So, we look around for a teacher for you, since I apparently am a natural at archery now, but I have no idea how I do it, just that I am the son of Apollo and it must come naturally, or how to teach it." he said. She found this funny because a minute ago he said he was shitty at archery.

"Sure, you can be my teacher." she said, "Oh, and Congradulations! Apollo…the sun god. Just don't burn me to death." She was a bit envious. "Bet my godly parent's more powerful than yours!" she joked. Now that he was claimed, she really wanted to prove that she…er…the unclaimed kids were better than the claimed.

"So how do you use this thing?" she asked staring at the wooden bow. He was going to make her look bad since he was the son of Apollo. This was not good…

((Sorry for that crappy post. When are we starting that thread we were PMing about? I also deleted all the spam.))

"Sure, you can be my teacher." she said, "Oh, and Congradulations! Apollo…the sun god. Just don't burn me to death. Bet my godly parent's more powerful than yours!" she said. He could tell she was joking around. "Maybe, but you never know." Most unclaimed kids hoped they were the child of a powerful god because of the powers, he knew he wanted a powerful father, Apollo was powerful enough, of course if it was a minor god he wouldn't have given a shit, at least he knew who his father was.

Maybe I can teach it as well... She looked at him, "So, how do you use this thing?" Andrew pulled on the bow he picked out and dry fired it. "I guess I could teach you, umm, knock the arrow like this." he said than demonstrated by putting the arrow on the string, this was coming naturally. "Then you take aim, pull back, take a deep breath and hold it, then fire." He demonstrated this as well and got another bulls-eye.

He watched her do it intently, he was starting to like this girl. He still found it odd that he had sucked at archery then as soon as he was claimed he was amazing at it, not to mention the fact that he was an amazing swordsman too. He kept playing through his head the claiming, how Apollo had appeared, gave him his guitar, and left, claiming him as his son. He had a cool dad, and he knew he was always watching because he was the sun. Andrew never understood how Apollo and the star that mortals call the sun that they think heats the earth collaborate. They both existed, but how did the star not effect the Earth? He had no idea, but he figured the next time he and his dad talked he would ask him. His mother had always said his father had left to go east, but would come around from the west often. Apparently she understood who he was, but had never told Andrew. He was kind of mad at her, but he knew that would fade away, she had to protect him, because the more he knew, the more dangerous he would be.

((We can start it now if you want to, and sorry for the crappy post))
